This is the first book of a new trilogy by two authors who know how to write dark mafia books.  This one is over the top twisted and perilous.  There isn't much to say without giving away the story. It is a trilogy so there is a HUGE cliffie in this one.  The next 2 books come out a month apart. 

I am intrigued by our hero. Santiago wants revenge. But I saw deep in side him some ounce of goodness.  I can't say the same for his sister.  And clearly the other reigning families are going to play a major role in the story as well.  

Ivy has been kept isolated as much as possible from the workings of the organization they are all a part of.  Until that is that her half brother gives her up as payment.  She has some grit to her. I like how although scared out of her mind, she is able to find goodness in people and also find her spine and stick up for herself in the process.  Major Beauty and the Beast or Phantom of the Opera vibes with a modern twist. 

I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes.
