HEA Teaser 3

Justice served. Honor restored. Team reunited.

After a long battle to discover the truth, the men and women of Hard Ink have a lot to celebrate, especially the wedding of two of their own—Nick Rixey and Becca Merritt, whose hard-fought love deserves a happy ending.

As Nick and the team shift from crisis mode to building their new security consulting firm, Becca heads back to work at the ER. But amid the everyday chaos of demanding jobs and their upcoming nuptials, an old menace they thought long gone reemerges, threatening the peace they’ve only just found.

Now, for one last time, Nick and Becca must fight for their always and forever, because they know that when true love overcomes all the odds it lasts hard ever after.

HEA Teaser 1

This one is for the fans!  Laura Kaye gave us a phenomenal series and then stepped out of the box, listened to her readers and gave us MORE! It not only is the continuation of Nick and Becca's story, it is a love letter to the whole Hard Ink crew.

The story picks up at the end of the action from the Hard to Let Go.  Nick knows he wants forever with Becca but their lives are busy, trying to return to normal.  Can Nick propose and pull off a wedding of Becca's dreams without a hitch?  Remnants of the bad guys they once faced are still lurking.  Waiting for revenge.

Loved seeing the whole gang again.  Loved hearing all the banter and emotion between the couples.  This story is truly the mother load of epilogues and I was in heaven!  This is definitely not a stand-alone book.  Read the rest of the series first.  Thank you Laura for giving us one last look.  I am hopeful some of the Hard Ink guys show up in your next series as well.  Great job!

Blog Tour and Review: Reign

reign book tour.jpg

One bad biker. One gorgeous sheriff.
One intense biker romance.

REIGN IS NOW AVAILABLE

Barnes & Noble: http://bit.ly/1PW98BW

reign cover.jpg

As the president of the Sin City Outlaw Motorcycle Club, l fuck as hard as I ride and rarely go to bed alone.
The women are fast and the violence is intense.
I excel in both.
People either respect me or fear me. I'm not arrogant. It’s just the truth.
I was a king, reigning over Vegas without complication, until one gorgeous sheriff made everything fall apart. When I saw her, I became a Neanderthal, wanting nothing more than to be between those legs. I guess that’s where I went wrong, because my reality was shot to hell real fucking fast.
One kiss caused her to step over that blue line.
One night in her bed made me a traitor.
And now… we’re both screwed.

EXCERPT
“Really? You got me donuts?” I arch a brow, dropping the lid.
He turns, a mischievous smile fitting his face.
“Don’t all cops like donuts?” he jeers. I roll my eyes, placing my hand on my hip.
“That’s so stereotypical,” I huff.
“Oh, really?” he replies, grabbing the box off the table, a smug smile still on his face.
“I’ll get rid of them then.”
“No, wait!” I nearly trip over my feet trying to grab the box of donuts. He holds them higher than me and smiles so big I think I see two dimples. Really, he’s pulling the notorious bully move holding them just above my reach? Why am I attracted to him again?
“I thought you didn’t like them,” he taunts.
“I do like them. A lot, actually.” I cross my arms, my cheeks flushing. My dad used to always take me to the local bakery to get donuts on the weekends. I would get whatever I wanted—usually anything with sprinkles—and we would drop the rest off at the department. What can I say, embrace your stereotypes.
“So, it’s true. Cops love donuts,” he states arrogantly, sitting the box back down.

REIGN M.N..jpg

This is my first M.N. Forgy book and it won’t be my last! Reign is book 1 in the Sin City Outlaws series. What a great introduction to some very bad a$$ dudes!

The synopsis could not be more intriguing. What happens when an Outlaw falls for a girl on the right side of the law? Holy hell is about to break loose that is for sure. This book ends on a cliff hanger so I won’t go into much detail here. What I will say is that the heat level between Zeek and Jillian is scorching! They may not be sure that they are destined to be together but it helps a whole lot that they can’t keep their hands off each other. The angst of forbidden love also drives their passion.

"I'm fine." I grumble. I'm not, though. I'm far from fu*king fine. One sheriff made me lose my mind. One woman brought me to my knees. One blonde-headed beauty has me changing every aspect that makes me me.

It will be a bumpy road for these two but given their personalities, I think they will come out ok.

As I said, this is a cliffie. Zeek and Jillian’s story continues in the next book. I’m looking forward to more of their story and Zeek’s redemption. Great balance of Club life, romance and violence. Perfect MC read!

Review: Three Sacred Words

Title:  Three Sacred Words
Author: Christina Lee
Published: January 26, 2016
Genre: Contemporary, Suspense

From the author of Two of Hearts comes a standalone adult romance about finding love where you least expect it.

Meadow Starr has worked in housekeeping at the Golden Arrow Casino since she was legal. Raising her son, Joaquin, without the support of her parents or the child’s father was not something she had ever envisioned. Neither was pushing a broom, scraping money together to pay the bills, or living in a trailer park on the reservation. Little does she expect her worst nightmare and her best dream to show up in town at the exact same time.

Federal Marshal Alex Flores returns to the reservation where he helped solve a murder investigation last year. He’s never forgotten the mesmerizing woman with the luminous smile and world-weary eyes. Too bad the fugitive on this new case has led him straight to her doorstep. Meadow will never give up Joaquin’s father, not if her wary gaze or her tight set jaw is any indication.

Meadow’s draw to Alex is immediate, but no way she’s going to trade attraction for history, longing for heritage. When the stakes become higher and Alex steps in to protect Meadow and her child from the very man she was willing to defend, he can’t help falling for them both. Who knew something so wrong could feel so right? But as the lines continue to blur, something’s got to give, and Alex isn’t certain he can walk away so easily from love.

I am a sucker for single parent tropes.  Add in a hot guy who falls for the child along with the mom.  Yeah….perfect!   Christina Lee brings us that perfect mix in her latest book, Three Sacred Words.  We met Alex Flores as a co-worker of Shane in the first book in the series, Two of Hearts.  He is back on the Indian reservation in this book, hunting down leads on a criminal and hoping to see Meadow Starr again.

Meadow is an independent single parent.  She isn’t necessarily that way by choice but she will do whatever it takes to keep her son comfortable.  She has enjoyed the support of the people on the reservation.  What she doesn’t realize she needs is someone to capture her heart again.  Meadow can be stubborn and skittish.  Alex has is mission cut out for him once he sets his sights on Meadow.  Although they have insta-attraction, it was nice to see a slow build to trust and the beginnings of a relationship.

There is some suspense in the story.  Meadow’s ex is not a good man.  It was great to see some familiar faces from the first book—Dakota and Shane and the casino workers.  Also a cameo by Kai and Rachel from Christina’s Between Breathes Series.  Finally, your heart will melt reading Alex and Joaquin’s interactions.  That man was meant to be a father.  I think Joaquin sensed it before Alex or Meadow.  Icing on the cake for yet again a wonderful book by one of my favorite authors.  Can’t wait to see what she brings us next!

Synopsis

Once Rose Fisher makes a decision, that’s it. End of story.

Like when her ex, Patrick, dumped her out of the blue, then showed up with a super hot, tatted up sex kitten on his arm. Then it was over for good. The end. Poof. Dead to her.  Except he was everywhere — down the hall, at the bar with their friends, worming his way into her dreams.

But with their friends paired off, they’re left alone more and more. Rose is determined to keep him friendzoned — doesn’t matter that he stares at her with a smolder that drops all panties in a ten foot radius. She’s over him, and she’ll prove it by getting back into the dating game, Patrick be damned.

Patrick Evans is no stranger to consequences. When your mother walks out, your dad drifts away.  When you leave home, you’re on your own. And when you run away from the girl you love, you lose her.  He finally has an opportunity to rebuild the bridge he burned, and it’s not one he’ll take for granted. But he’ll have to fight for her, even if it hurts. Even if it means he’ll walk away brokenhearted. Because deep down, he knows that she’s it for him.

The trick will be to get her to admit she feels it too.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom; she has three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife; even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

Review: Dark Matter The Secret Revealed

Title: Dark Matter: The Secret Revealed, Butterfly Prophecy Series
Author: Deborah Ann Gordon
Published: December 6, 2015   Indie
Genre: Fantasy

Belinda Benson lives in Coriander, New Hampshire, a small town on the eastern seaboard, with her adopted family, Kevin and Sheila Benson and their 13-year old daughter, Rhea. Belinda seems like a normal, intelligent and attractive 18-year old who is about to graduate from high school until disaster strikes the town in the form of a life-threatening viral outbreak that claims the lives of several of the town's inhabitants and causes 18-year old Damien Garant, Belinda's new love, to fall dangerously ill. Luckily for young Damien, Belinda is not who she appears to be, but an immortal with healing powers who has lived for many centuries.

To save Damien, Belinda must discover emila by travelling to her origins in the sixth century where she was Lady Cerridwen, a mortal High Priestess of the Isle of the Mists in what is now modern-day Isle of Man. As Belinda and Lady Cerridwen come to terms with sharing one mind and one body, Belinda must reconcile Lady Cerridwen's deep and abiding love for Sir Gareth, a powerful Knight in King William's Court, when she is in love with another man in their future and is trying to discover emila to save him in a race against time.

Belinda must also come to terms with her relationship with Michael, the Old Immortal, who has been her protector and her teacher for as along as she can remember. It is Michael who gives Belinda the elixir that allows her to journey to her past. Michael has loved her like a sister, a daughter and as Belinda discovers from their old friend, Thomas, as a lover in waiting... Their steadfast centuries-old bond is tested, and in this first novel of the trilogy both immortals must begin to face their true feelings for each other as Belinda 's secret is revealed--the Butterfly Prophecy has come true posing a threat to the established Group of World Servers, but making a promise to heal human and immortal suffering and building a bridge between the two worlds that will advance human science, inform immortal practice and deliver Belinda into the arms of the one man she has always loved.

I was intrigued by the synopsis to this story and jumped right in to this fantasy tale.  It hits all the elements of a fantasy suspense story:  Immortals, humans, evil doers, time travel, secrets, brave knights, High Priestess, and unwavering love.  The author spins a tale that reminded me of Deborah Harkness’ Discovery of Witches series.  The world building was well done.  There has been great care given to the accuracy of the time travel.  Lovers of historical romance will be happy to see the intrigue in the court of the King.  The traditions of the druids and pagan religions in England at the birth of Christianity are well represented.

The focus of the story is on Belinda, a modern day immortal with no memory of her life prior to becoming immortal.  She has been guided in her immortal life by her mentor Michael.  She feels a deep connection to her current boyfriend, Damien.   As the story unfolds, it becomes more apparent that their connection may be centuries old.  Although she is hundreds of years old, this is a coming of age story for Belinda.  She is destined to be the catalyst in bridging the human and mortal world and doing so peacefully.   Belinda is a strong heroine full of great compassion.  There are many roadblocks to come.  The danger they face is still unpredictable.  I have no doubt that Belinda and her band of Immortals will ultimately prevail.

Ms. Gordon is a newly published author.  Please give her a shot.  The story is well written.  There is a lot of ground laying happening in this book along with a fair amount of clues that the reader will need to pay attention to.   This book is heavy in historical fiction, but as the trilogy progresses, I assume we will see events taking place in modern times.  A refreshing new voice in the fantasy genre.
