I have read all of the books in the Ruthless Kings universe. I think I like the Atlantic City club because they are so weirdly unique and coming from such varied circumstances. I never know which way the authors will land with a character but that is the joy of reading, right?
This is the story of One Eye. We know him. We know he has been protecting Alicia and her daughter from an abusive partner. They are in love but they both have so much baggage. Alicia wants to cool things down. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. it was wonderful watching these two unfold all their layers. And the beautiful little Kimmy was just the icing on the cake. What and old soul. I loved how One Eye was with her.
Of course we get to see the MC in action as well. But mostly it is just One Eye and Alicia trying to make things work and then One Eye finally standing up for what he wants.
Great addition to the series. I am hoping a few more of the guys will get their HEA soon.
