Every book in this series has been wonderful. This one probably ranks in the top two for me. This is Riona's story. So far, we have seen her ruthlessness and cold shoulder. I was curious to see what it would take for her to become more human vs a part of the machine for the Irish Mafia.
Riona becomes the target of an assassin and her family and in-laws quickly determine she needs protection. Enter Dante Gallo's army buddy--Raylan. On the surface, a big flirt, easy going, not a care in the world. Riona hates hime. Hates what he represents. She wants to prove herself to the men in her family. She DOES NOT want help. She get overruled.
As the days pass, Raylan starts to open up. In the process, Riona sees him in a new light. What she though she wanted, was put by the wayside. The turning point, for me, was watching the author unravel Riona. Her time on the ranch with Raylan was like watching a butterfly emerge. Kuddos for Raylan for seeing what might be under the surface and giving her her wings.
Great addition to the story line. Love seeing all the siblings and their spouses again. Looking forward to Seb's story!
