I have read this author before but WOW! This book was over the top! Dark and twisted and sexy and suspenseful. I need the second book like yesterday. This one ends with a minor cliffie but there is sooooo much more of the story to tell.
I loved Cristina. She is a strong heroine. She keeps her chin up and her mind in the game at all times. She is a bit naive to the mafia world and how her father was fitting into it. But she catches up fast. And then there is Damien. Not a fan of that name as it conjures up bad juju. But perhaps a great choice by the author. She wants us to think he is the devil. He acts most of the time. But I saw that soft squishy center. I have a feeling he has many more layers and he is going to let Cristina peel them all back.
Loved the suspense. Loved the world building. Very descriptive and set the mood perfectly.
I can't wait for the next book!
Great start to the duet. I am sucked in to the story now.
