This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed book one, but Bennett and Charlotte had me hooked by only 15% in to their story!
Bennett's story follows in a parallel timeline line to Killian's story. We see some similar events but from Bennett's POV. The story is told in alternating POV between Charlotte and Bennett. I truly enjoyed the strong, self sufficient woman that Charlotte showed the world but really enjoyed her more when she let her heart deal with her emotions. We get a softer heroine and that vulnerability makes her endearing.
Bennett is not without his flaws but what sealed the deal for me was his reaction to Charlotte's news. He tries so hard to win her over. Even plays the "friend" card for awhile. We also get to see him play hockey with the hopes of moving up to the NHL.
All in all, just a great sports romance read. Loving this author! I have caught up on some of her backlist and will be looking forward to more in this series as well.
