Blog Tour & Excerpt: DROPOUT

NEW Dropout eCover v300dpi

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new erotic romance from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.

Grayson Cleary left town before graduation day and never looked back. Most people back home pegged him as a dropout. Over time, he’s worked to make something of his life and leave his past behind, so when his ten-year reunion comes up, he has no intention of attending. When his best friend begs him to go, Grayson finds himself confronted with a past he’d rather forget and the one woman he’s always craved.

Kate St. Dalton had everything when she left her hometown. Not only was she Valedictorian with a full scholarship, but she was also engaged to the boy of her dreams. Then, life threw a wrench in her plans, and she had to find a way to live the new life fate handed her. The last thing she needs is the hot boy from high school returning to town as the sexy man of her dreams.

When the two take a chance and use the reunion week to burn up the sheets, they’ll have to remember that it’s only for a few nights—not for a lifetime. And decide if what they have is just a fling…or something far more than a mere reunion.

Kate didn’t know what to say, so she did the only thing she could— she wiggled out of his hold and straddled his lap, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.

Grayson’s eyes darkened, and he palmed her butt, his hands big enough to cover most of her. “You know, if I thought my sad story would have ended up with this reaction, I’d have told you earlier.”

Kate pushed at his shoulder. “Oh, stop. I’m honored you told me, Grayson. I’m so pissed off that you went through that and that I was so self-centered I didn’t know.”

He squeezed her butt. “We didn’t run in the same circles, and while others were shitty to me, you were always nice. You cared even when you had so much on your plate. I had such a damned crush on you, and you never made me feel beneath you.”

She lowered her head. “I wish I would have known about you. Or at least known more.”

He lifted her chin with his finger. “We found each other now, Kate. That’s good enough. No use looking into the past when we can’t change it.”

She blinked back tears for him, for her, for everything they would lose when the week was over. “It’s reunion weekend, Grayson, looking into the past is what we do.”

He shook his head. “Others might, but I’m looking at you right now, and that’s my present.” He kissed her softly. “Damn shame the future’s about to hit us square in the face, but I’m not letting myself worry about that when I have you in my arms. You’re my present, Kate, just like I’m yours.” He cupped her cheeks with his hands and kissed her a bit harder. “I don’t want to leave,” he whispered, his voice hoarse. “Not tonight, not on Sunday night.”

A tear slid down her cheek. “I can’t think about Sunday, but you don’t have to go tonight.” He kissed her again, and she fell against him, knowing if she thought too much about what was to come after he left, she’d break.

She’d done the worst thing she could have on reunion weekend.

She’d found the one thing she’d missed out on when it should have mattered, and now she knew if she didn’t find a way to stop time, she’d miss out on him all over again.

We turn a corner and there it is, my favorite tree. It’s at least four hundred years old, with branches so big and heavy that they rest on the ground.

And under it is a portable swing with a red blanket spread in front of it.

“Oh, my.”

He smiles down at me and leads me to the swing. I sit and kick my flip flops off, and Ben sets the basket in the middle of the blanket and joins me on the swing.

“This is lovely.”

“It’s a good day for it,” he says and rests his arm on the back of the swing, behind my shoulders. His fingertips brush the bare skin on my shoulder. I scoot closer to him and rest my head on his shoulder.

“We spent countless summers out here,” he says quietly, as if speaking too loud will disrupt the perfect spring day.

“We did.”

“And as a teenager, I would see you sitting out here, under this tree, with a book. Your knees pulled up to your chest, and your bare feet dirty as can be. You took my breath away even then.”

I glance up at him in surprise.

“I can’t tell you how often I’d watch you—not in a creepy way, I might add—I’d watch you reading and enjoying this tree, and I wanted so badly to sit with you and kiss you senseless.”

“I didn’t know that.”

“Of course you didn’t,” he says with a gentle smile. “But now you do.”

He nudges my chin up with his fingers and lowers his lips to mine, covering them softly. I cup his face in my hand and let myself simply soak in the moment, in my favorite place, with this man.

He slowly takes the kiss from sweet to hot, and to my delight, drags his hand from my hip to my breast, his thumb dancing over my already tight nipple.

Good God, he’s like a drug that I’ll never get tired of.

After what seems like an hour, he pulls back and rests his forehead against mine.

“I have been waiting for that for a very long time,” he whispers.

“I think this was probably way better than anything you might have done as a teenager.”

He chuckles. “Ture. So, it’s a win-win.”

I let my fingertips glide down his cheeks to his neck.

“Savannah.”

“Yes?”

“I want you,” he says and closes his eyes tightly. “I don’t say that to rush you into anything, and this isn’t the time or place anyway, but I need you to know that I want you.”

I cover his lips with mine, watching his eyes. “I want you too, Ben.”

He inhales and kisses me again, moving straight into hot as fuck.

Finally, he pulls back, clears his throat, and smiles at me.

“Are you hungry?”

I laugh and push my hair off my face. “So hungry.”

“I think Gabby made fried chicken.”

“That sounds good too.”

Blog Tour & Review: Regret

Regret RDB Banner

REGRET
CHRISTINA LEE
M/M ROMANCE
RELEASE DATE: 06.26.17

Regret Cover
COVER DESIGN: KANAXA

BLURB
When Brian “Brin” Schubert’s condo floods, he takes his co-worker up on the offer to stay on his crappy futon for a while. The last thing he expects is for his friend’s roommate to be the one guy he despises the most. The same guy who stomped on his heart senior year of high school. And by the looks of the girl on his arm, the same man who’s still deep inside the closet.

Nicholas Dell never predicted that eleven years later, one of his greatest regrets would show up on his doorstep down on his luck. Nick has made some terrible mistakes—story of his life—and he’s been paying for them ever since. And if the guilt and shame aren’t enough, his first crush had to turn into one of the sexiest men he’s ever laid eyes on.

Nick and Brin have weeks to steer clear of each other. Weeks to avoid strangling each other. But when stubbornness leads to skyrocketing sexual tension, hate-sex doesn’t seem like such an awful way to work through their frustration. Except hate is a powerful emotion, especially when it’s turned inward. And in Nick’s case he’s been drowning in a sea of self-loathing for so long, he can’t see his way out.

As Brin reconnects with Nick, his perception of what really happened in their past begins to change. He’s finally ready to forgive him and take a second chance on the one guy who stirs him like no other. But Nick’s demons are complicated, heart-wrenching…demanding. So devastating, he might never allow himself true happiness—even with the one man who’s always owned his heart.

EXCERPT
“Brin, let me introduce you to my roommate,” Elijah said as I followed him through the short hallway to the living room. “This is Nick and his friend, Sarah.”

Sarah’s curly locks were nearly as blond as mine and Nick’s black hair was mostly tucked beneath a worn blue baseball cap. The two of them were cozy on the couch, Sarah sitting with her legs tucked under her and Nick with his ankle crossed over his knee. They were eating Chinese food off paper plates resting in their laps. Sarah simply waved as her mouth was full from a bite of food but Nick responded, “Hey, how you doing?” after swallowing a piece of what looked like an egg roll.

The smell of fried rice hit my nostrils and when my stomach rumbled in response, I realized just how famished I was. I was dying to dive right into the second brown bag resting on the coffee table that more than likely contained my food, but I didn’t want to be rude.

When Nick leaned forward with an outstretched hand, for some reason I zeroed right in on the neatly groomed scruff on his chin. When he tilted his face to look directly into my eyes, I froze, our fingers interlocked. A startled gasp sprang from my lips, and Nick’s eyebrows slammed together in confusion right before they lifted straight to his hairline.

The same cherry-colored lips, with a center dimple drilled into his chin. Those sad, amber-colored eyes that shuttered out the world.

Holy fuck. Elijah’s roommate was Nicholas Dell.

The same Nicholas Dell from Jefferson High who practically ruined me for other guys.

The same Devil’s third baseman that begged his math tutor to suck his cock in the locker room after practice.

And given the female nestled up beside him, it was the same Nicholas Dell who was still deep in the closet.

REVIEW

4.5 Hearts

Christina Lee brings us a brand new stand alone about second chance love.  Brin and Nick had those first squishy feelings of new love back in high school.  That was until Nick grew fearful and broke Brin's heart.  The story follows these two as the reconnect by chance many years later.

What I like most about this author's writing is that she is able, with words, to get the reader pulled along on all the emotional turmoil of the characters.  The tension brought about by seeing each other again, has Nick and Brin all over the place with their feelings.  What's under it all for these two is the fact that they were each other's first loves and their hearts still know what they want.

Great secondary characters in the story.  Great underlying commentary about how society views relationships and the expectations put on us to succeed.  Some heart breaking moments in this one.  Tissues at the ready!  Never fear, though, Christina brings a dose of humor to the story as well.

Looking forward to more from this author.  Great read once again!

Cover Reveal: The Darkest Sunrise Duet

Today we are sharing the incredible covers for The Darkest Sunrise Duet by Aly Martinez. Check them out below, along with the blurbs for each title. The first book in this contemporary romance duet will be released on July 13th! Be sure to follow Aly's newsletter to be notified when the books are up for pre-order.

The Darkest Sunrise (The Darkest Sunrise Duet, #1)

Coming July 13

Synopsis:

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience.

“You’re pregnant.”

“It’s a boy.”

“Your son needs a heart transplant.”

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Lies.

Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun.

Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky.

“He’s gone.”

For ten years, the darkness consumed me.

In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise.

“Hi. I’m Porter Reese.”

The Brightest Sunset (The Darkest Sunrise Duet, #2)

Coming July 27th

Synopsis:

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Bullshit.

Words destroyed me.

“I’m sorry. She didn’t make it.”

“Daddy, he can’t breathe!”

“There’s nothing more we can do for your son.”

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Lies.

Those syllables and letters became my executioner. I told myself that, if I didn’t acknowledge the pain and the fear, they would have no power over me. But, as the years passed, the hate and the anger left behind began to control me.

Two words—that was all it took to plunge my life into darkness.

“He’s gone.”

In the end, it was four soft, silky words that gave me hope of another sunrise.

“Hi. I’m Charlotte Mills.”

Leaving her nearly killed me.

I thought it was the only way to keep her safe.

She’s moved on, and I want her back.

***

EVAN HART is myheart.

Loving him is my destiny. I waited my entire life for our time, for us to finally be together, only to have him leave.

Now he’s back.

Though my mind can’t forgive him, my heart can’t forget.

Excerpt

“Evan, I want to know what happened, but

I have a life now and you need to know…” She trails off, her eyes darting away

from mine.

                “What?”

Gazing up at me, she continues,

“Whatever you have to say, it’s not going to change a thing. We’re over.”

                My heart twists and breathing

becomes difficult. Mother fuck, her

words cut deep, hurting even though they aren’t true. Sure, she believes them

on some level—she had to, in order to get through what I did. Yet, along with

the hurt and disappointment swimming in her eyes, there’s also tenderness and

love.

“Tell me you’re happy and I’ll walk away.”

We always pushed each other, challenged the other to

face our fears, to be honest with ourselves, with each other. I need to hear

her say it. I don’t believe it, but if she is over me, I need to hear it in her

voice and see it in her face—not because I want to, but because it’s the only

way I can even begin to accept that we’re over. Even then, it’s not possible.

“I’m happy.” Her tone is laden with bravado, but no

true emotion. Even her gaze, which never wavers from mine, is flat.

Shaking my head, I briefly cast my eyes downward to

suppress my smile. “No, you’re not.”

“Van.” I flinch at that fucking name.

As a child, I thought it was so fucking cool to have a

nickname that only my best friends would call me. Now, hearing “Van” from her

pretty lips, I want to obliterate the word from her vocabulary, fucking kiss

the word out of her.

“You can call me asshole for all I care, you’re not

happy,” I retort in frustration. Catching my tone, I breathe deeply and loosen

my fists to relax. “Don’t lie to me, and most of all, don’t lie to yourself.”

“You don’t know what you’re talking about. You want to

see what you want. I’m with Greg, and we’re happy.”

She grimaces infinitesimally, then averts her eyes

from me. Unable to read her, I’m not sure if it’s because she means it and

doesn’t want to hurt my feelings or if the lie tastes nasty in her mouth.

“Sweetness, I know everything there is to know about

you, without apology. You can’t lie to me.”

Title: AIM
Series: A Circle of Justice Novel
Author: LP Dover
Genre: Romantic Suspense Standalone
Release Date: August 7, 2017

*~* STANDALONE NOVEL *~*

When someone asks what I do for a living, I answer it plain and simple . . . I’m a hunter. I hunt the dregs of society and I’m very damn good at it.

I’m Ian Chandler, FBI agent and a member of the Circle of Justice, an organization of justice seeking vigilantes. My mission is to solve a string of ‘accidental’ hiking deaths occurring around my Wyoming town. When Grace Myers –a woman who’s been missing for days –shows up on my land, it turns out she’s the key to it all. Someone is hunting her, and I make it my duty to keep her safe.

However, the deeper I get into the case, the more dangerous it becomes; especially, now that I’ve fallen for the woman I have to protect. If hunting is the game, I won’t fail. I always hit my mark.

My phone rang and I thought it’d be Bryce, but it wasn’t. “What can I do for you, Chief?”

Colton Myers was the chief of police back in Wyoming. His call wasn’t unusual, because they often called me and my brothers when there were cases the local PD couldn’t solve. “I need your help,” he replied, his voice shaking.

The cab driver pulled up to the airport entrance and I passed him a wad of bills before getting out. “What’s going on? I’m about to get on a flight to head home.”
“Good. I’ll drop these files off with Reed, so you can see them when you get back.”
The din of the bustling city made it hard to hear him, but I could tell he was distraught. “Files for what?”
He sighed heavily. “You know how there’ve been missing hikers in Montana?”
“Yeah, I saw something about it before I left for New York.” It wasn’t uncommon for tourists to sway from the hiking trails or test their limits by doing stupid shit. Most of those people found themselves dead. I liked to climb the cliffs, but I was good at it.
“We’re missing people here too,” Colton confessed.
“It happens every year. Why does this case shock you?” I’d been gone for three weeks, so I hadn’t even paid attention to what was going on in Wyoming.
He huffed angrily. “About three weeks ago, eight men supposedly went missing in our mountains. Just this morning, I couldn’t get a hold of Grace. Her boss also called me and said she never showed up at their meeting last night. Her car is still at the hotel. It’s like she disappeared.”
“You’ve got to be shitting me,” I growled low.
Grace was his daughter and a good friend of mine. Hell, I’d wanted to be more than that for quite some time. I only held back from pursuing her out of respect for her father. She was one of the most beautiful women I’d ever known.
“Please, Ian. I have to find her.”
Hurrying through the doors, impatience flooded through my veins. “We’ll find her, if it’s the last thing I do . . . I swear.”
