A whistleblower is dead. A journalist is hunted. And only one man can keep her alive.

When he hears that the world-renowned covert operations team at Jameson Force Security is opening a facility in Seattle, Cole knows exactly where he belongs. Investigative journalist Tessa Ward has uncovered proof that a powerful real estate developer is tied to a string of deadly wildfires in the Pacific Northwest. It’s the kind of story that could make her career… or end her life. When her source is murdered in cold blood, Tessa realizes the truth is more dangerous than she ever imagined. With no other options, Tessa knows she has no choice but to turn to the one man she swore she’d never ask for help.

Some fires are set on purpose. Others never stop burning.

Their past ended in heartbreak, but when it’s clear she’s being hunted, Tessa and Cole are forced to set aside their hurt. As they chase a trail of corruption, arson, and murder, every life-or-death decision reignites old passions. But the closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous the game becomes—and one wrong move could cost them everything, including each other.

Review

This is the first book of a new series by this author. Fans will recognize the Jameson Security from Las Vegas and Pittsburgh. They have opened an office in Seattle now. Some familiar faces both leading the helm and int he background providing support to this team. Great new setting and interesting team members.

Tessa and Cole have a history. They didn't part on good terms 5 years ago but Tessa is in trouble and needs Cole to help her out.  Clearly there are unresolved issues with these two.  The question is, have they grown enough to let the worries of the past not define their future?

Lots of action and intrigue in this story. Both Tessa and Cole can be protective and stubborn.  Causes some issues for them! Loved watching all this unfold.

Great start tot he series!  Looking forward to getting to know the rest of the team better

Review: The Palace of Steel

Book  Blurb

The coup stole her family. The prison forged her identity. The desert built her army. Now Princess Maeve Moran stands at the edge of her destiny, claiming the Steel Citadel itself.

Haunted by bloodshed and betrayed by the very ones she thought she knew best, Maeve is forced to choose between vengeance and ruin. The truth of her lineage runs darker than she ever imagined, built on centuries of lies, magic, and death. To seize her throne, she must confront not only the tyranny of the usurper king, but the monstrous legacy of the first Moran.

As alliances crumble and the enemy closes in, Maeve's path to the throne demands sacrifices she might not have the strength to make. The hunt for retribution could cost her everything, and everyone.

In a kingdom forged of blood and iron, Maeve must will she become the queen her people need, or the monster they fear most?

Contains mature themes.

Review

This is book 3 in the series. You will have to read them in order. This book had me all over the place. It started out so good. The story picks up right where book two ends. The Leader's group of revolutionaries are still looking for information and ways to bring down the usurper King. But then about half way through I was starting to think I was wrong.
Maeve just got so whiny and defiant. Eoghan was trying so hard to make her happy. He wanted to do everything for her. Maeve honestly got so annoying, I wanted to kick her. Maybe someone should have. Eoghan must have a big heart because although he got mad at her, he continues to give her grace and love her.

We see lots of action in this one. Dragons. Other parts of the kingdom. I suspect some subterfuge by multiple sources. And so the second half of the book, although filled with information and lots of action, was just meh for me because of Maeve. I despised her so much for most of the last half of the book, that I considered a 3.5 for my rating.

But wait! Keep reading! No spoilers! The epilogue knocked me sideways. All kinds of lightbulbs went on. Did not even consider that cliffhanger as a possibility as I was reading. Thinking back to what I read, there were a few seeds maybe that hinted that way. I see where this is going--I think. I could be wrong and this is fine too. I am so much team Eoghan in this saga. He is a good man through and through and I can't wait for him to save the day and Maeve's heart!

Waiting patiently for Book 4! I need all the answers ASAP!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review

Readers of this author have been following along in the Montgomery Legacy series. You will love all the family dynamics if you start from the beginning, but you can very easily read this as a stand alone. Tis is Brooklyn Montgomery's story.

I love a good single parent trope and this on comes as a surprise as well! Reece Fox works for the Montgomery construction. Technically, Brooklyn isn't his direct boss but she is owner in the company. Neither of them are looking for a relationship. But when Reece finds our he has a pre-teen daughter, Brooklyn is more than happy to help him out.

Eventually, their long held attraction comes to a head. No one in either family is surprised or concerned. Lots of family antics and banter in this one. The Fox brothers my need their own series coming up....hint....hint.

Great addition to the series. Great to see Brooklyn's brothers again, too. I always look forward to more from this author.

Release Blitz: xoxo Summer

Blurb:

I can’t decide if my new summer tenant—a devastatingly handsome hockey player and single
dad—is the answer to my problems or the start of a new one.

When big-city developers threaten to buy up my small town, I need to save the rental cottage
next door from demolition. I have a plan . . . until Daniel Sutton checks in.

Six-four, a face chiseled by the gods, and a body built by a career on the ice, I’m knocked
sideways. He’s charming with me and adorable with his son. And when we touch, it’s electric.

But two things change everything. The pipes break in the cottage, and his agent calls. Before I
can stop myself, I’m offering him a place to stay, and Daniel is offering me the answer to my
problems. He’ll buy the cottage for me if I help him clean up his reputation.

Sounds simple enough. But when I start to fall in love with him, even though I know he’s leaving
in a few months, it’s suddenly more complicated than ever.

I’m willing to take a chance on us and pour my heart into a letter. But with him skating on thin
ice, he’s going to have to sacrifice something—me or his career.

I just hope XOXO, Summer isn’t the last thing I ever say to him.

Release Blitz & Review : Knox Unleashed

Blurb:

USA Today bestselling author Scarlett Cole, writing as S. Cole, delivers an electrifying small-town, enemies-to-lovers, age-gap romance set deep in the Florida Everglades.

MAREN

Everyone in Gator Flats knows Knox.

They know the sound of his bike rolling through the swamp. The way men step aside when he walks into a room. And they know my father shot his brother and somehow kept his badge.

I should hate Knox.

Instead, every time he looks at me, I feel like he sees the parts of me I’ve spent my whole life trying to hide while working at the Magnolia Bait and Marine Supply.

Wanting him is dangerous.

But maybe staying exactly who I’ve always been is worse.

KNOX

I rule Gator Flats.

Seventeen years wearing the president’s patch, and every man in this swamp answers to me. So when someone gives up a club member’s location to an enemy, I take it personal.

What I don’t need is Maren Caldwell driving past my compound like her father didn’t change both our lives forever.

She’s too young. Too tied to things that never washed clean. And every time I look at her, I forget that wanting something and taking it are two different things.

Review

Great first book to a series. This is an extension of the authors other MC books. We are off to Florida to see what this group is up to. Knox is the President and thinks he has his small community in hand. The Sherriff's daughter ends up throwing him for a loop!

I loved Maren to pieces! What a great match for Knox. She was so sure of herself and firm in her beliefs. She also didn't just take Knox or his brothers at face value but rather learned more about the lifestyle.

The romance building was fantastic. We see lots of the MC works and meet all the members. And when things got tough, Knox calls for support from some old friends that regular readers may recognize.

Another great read by this author. Looking forward to Vandal's story.

About   the  Author

Scarlett Cole is a contemporary romance and romantic suspense author who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

Book Blurb

Lilibeth

When I moved to River Falls, Colorado, falling for the town’s broody, tight-lipped cowboy was not part of the plan. Yet somehow, every run-in with Caden Wilde turns into a battle of sharp words and stolen glances. We argue like we’re at war, but my pulse never gets the memo.

He’s stubborn. Infuriating. Impossible.

And the most breathtaking man I’ve ever seen.

When a twist of fate forces us to spend a few days alone together, the line between enemies and something far more dangerous begins to blur. Beneath the scowls and sarcasm, I see pieces of the man he tries so hard to hide.

There’s just one problem. Caden doesn’t believe in relationships.

So, I agree to his rules. A few days. No promises. No expectations. We’ll walk away as friends when it’s over.

Simple.

Until my heart refuses to play by those rules.

Caden

Two years ago, the woman I planned to marry shattered my future with a single word. Since then, I’ve kept my life simple, my ranch, my routine, and no room for anything that could wreck me again.

Then Lilibeth Asher blows into town like a Colorado storm.

She’s sunshine where I’m shadows. Hope where I’m hesitant. Too kind, too bright, too tempting for a man who swore he was done believing in forever. From the moment we met, she’s challenged me, pushing my buttons, breaking through my silence, and making me feel things I buried long ago.

When a snowstorm traps us together, I convince myself I can handle it. A temporary truce. A few nights in my bed. No strings attached.

I’ve survived heartbreak before. I can survive this.

But Lilibeth isn’t temporary. She slips past my defenses, tearing down the walls I built piece by piece. And when life throws us a curveball neither of us sees coming, walking away is no longer an option.

Now I have a choice to make. Smother this spark before it roars out of control.

Or surrender to the wild flame she’s ignited inside me—a fire fierce enough to burn away my past and powerful enough to light the rest of my life.

Review

I have been excited to see Caden's story since the series started. So grumpy and so serious! Loved seeing the Wilde family rally around him in hopes his heart was healed and could truly love.

I love this small town and all the characters. Lilibeth fits in perfect. Caden and Lili had a lot of a barriers to overcome before that HEA. I loved seeing the layers pulled back and Caden have his aha moment. Once he was all in he was such a romantic. Good riddance to that old ex. Lilibeth will spend her life being showered with his love.

Wonderful addition to the series! I can't wait to see who is next!

Release Blitz & Review: Crosby

Blurb:

She’s here to expose hockey’s biggest flaws. He’s the complication she never planned on. Neither one is prepared for the sparks that fly every time they collide.

Juno Paxton has built her award-winning documentary career dismantling institutions people blindly worship. Her latest assignment is her most high-profile yet: immerse herself in the league’s newest hockey expansion team—the Portland Wildfire—for an entire season and create a behind-the-scenes film the league can parade around as “authentic.”

Juno doesn’t buy it. Not the hype, not the hero worship, and definitely not the polished personas of pro athletes. She expects egos, theatrics, and plenty of manufactured grit.

What she doesn’t expect is Crosby Hale.

The Wildfire’s starting goalie is stoic, meticulously focused, and infuriatingly camera-shy. He wants nothing to do with her film, her questions, or her insistence that he “show some personality.” Unfortunately for him, the league wants Juno’s documentary to center on the enigmatic goaltender who refuses to cooperate.

But the more time Juno spends with Crosby, the more she glimpses the steady, thoughtful man beneath his guarded exterior. He isn’t the stereotype she’s built her name exposing—he’s better. The more she learns about him, the harder it becomes to keep her documentary, and her heart, objective. And for Crosby, letting Juno in feels less like a mistake and more like the beginning of something worth fighting for.

Warm, witty, and unexpectedly emotional, CROSBY launches the Portland Wildfire series with a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance between a skeptical filmmaker and the goalie determined to stay out of her spotlight… until she becomes the one thing he can’t turn away from.

Great start to a new Hockey series. And wonderful easter eggs from previous series for fans of the author! I can't wait to see where this expansion team goes. For starters, the owner better get his own book--he is a unique character for sure.

But Crosby comes on tot he team with a lot of playing history and life history. He doesn't like the limelight at all. Juno is hired to follow the team and document their inaugural year. They are bound to clash. But behind those push and pulls is a true attraction. I do like that this one was a little bit of slow burn. And I like even more that they both had realistic expectations from the start. Honesty is key folks!

Great group of players rounding out this team. I am looking forward to learning more about each one. Crosby may be the glue keeping the team together, but the other guys have value and heart for the game. A little dram with an ex but otherwise, a great read!

Review

This is Decker Davis' story. We met his estranged twin Foster in the book prior to this one. I just knew Deck would have lots of layers to him.

This is a second chance sort of and a single parent book.  Decker and Penelope have been friends since they were little. There was so much tension between these two. So much unsaid words and true feelings.  Pen's daughter may play one of the biggest parts in this story just by being a sweet little girl. Everyone wants the world for her and it brings Deck and Penelope together.

I loved  the therapist POV and the time the brothers spent working on their relationship. It was a great way to tell the story of what happened in their lives that got them to this point.

I loved Pen/Slugger's relationship with her dad. Loved seeing the rest of the team both on and off the field.

Great addition to the series. It can be read as a stand alone but the team shows up on all the books.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review

Birdie Whiskey has been the life force of this family through every book. She just sizzles through life and is adored by all her older siblings. I just knew her story was going to be special.

Birdie literally runs in to Ragnar/Crew while she is on the slopes and the story explodes form there. These two have great chemistry from page one. Neither one is looking for a relationship but they can't deny that they just click.

That is until the past comes back to try and destroy their magical time together. Even through all the angst and stress on this couple, Birdie life just shines through. Even when she is upset, she tries to find the silver lining. Crew can't help but fall in love more because of it.

The whole family ways in on this one, especially because Crew is taking refuge at the ranch. We get to see all the siblings, all the kiddos and mom and dad are right in the mix. They had to earn this one but what a wonderful happy ending for this couple.

Review

I have been waiting for Mason's story. Talk about a squishy romantic.  Mason has decided to mend his playboy ways and he only has eyes for Lizzy.

I loved how supportive he was and so patient with her. I loved that he listened and didn't judge. Through all Lizzy's hang ups, he only supported her and told her how wonderful she was. It helped her to leave all the bad juju in the past and look forward to a life together.

As always with this author, she gives us peek at previous couples. The Gallo family is so big and the cousin love is full of banter and loud voices and drama. But the family wouldn't have it any other way.

Loving this spin off of the original Chicago Gallo's.  Can't wait for Amelia's book!

This is book 2 in the Scottish Isles series and is just as fabulous as the first book. We meet quin in the first book. He is the contractor on the island. This is a true second chance romance.  Hearts were never sour, they just needed to remember each other again.

Lots of water under the bridge in 18 years. Regardless of the why, these two were meant to be together. They were both young and inexperienced in love when Tarren left for university. Now Quinn is a single dad. Tarren is back on the island. They are bound to see each other.

So do they fall back in love because they are together again? Would they have sought each other out if Tarren's mother hadn't passed? Not sure. Regardless, they worked through some angst, worked through their  truths and decide to give it a go again.

This author always gives us some suspense to tie into the story. I don't know that in this case it was a benefit to the writing. There was a lot to manage just with the two of them and their families and friends.

I do love the setting so much. I love the town.  I am looking forward to book 3.

Teddy Williams was fine where he was. Settled in one city after a lifetime as a military brat, his career as an NHL goalie on the rise…until a mid-season trade throws everything for a loop. A new city and new team are manageable, but finding out you’re a Bratva heir to a ruthless empire just as the playoffs are about to begin is overwhelming. The only thing keeping him grounded is Elia. She comes into his life like a whirlwind but turns out to be his calm in the storm. The only problem? She’s his teammates’ little sister, and her brothers have made it clear she’s totally off limits. It’s impossible to stay apart, but when even more secrets come to light amidst tragedy, it leaves their relationship on the verge of catastrophe.

Elia Santori is the princess of her family, a bright light in their otherwise dark way of life. She has everything she could ever need as the only daughter of a Mafia boss, but yet…she yearns for more. When a tall, handsome stranger interrupts her usual shift volunteering, sparks fly, and even learning that he’s her brothers’ teammate isn’t enough to deny their attraction. This way of life has a way of catching up to you, though, and Elia isn’t immune to the secrets and tragedies that threaten everything she holds dear.

Review

This is my first time reading this author. I was excited about the trope--great mix I hoped of hockey and mafia.  And the book does git there but man is there a lot going on. I get that is the first book of a series, but there are so many characters and back stories. I felt a little lost sometimes.

I also wasn't sure about our MMC. Super nice guy and then really takes a dark turn training with the Bratva. Not raised int he family and then he seems to take to it skills wise while out of his mouth he keeps professing his dislike. If some of his behavior was meant to be funny, it just came off awkward.

Elia was the star and I honestly loved her family. This seemed like where the story should have stayed. I don't know that hockey helped the story other than bring her brothers in touch with Teddy.

I will read book 2. Teddy's sister is interesting and hopefully we learn more about the Bratva family.

Just ok for me.

Getting pregnant after a one-night stand with my brother’s best friend was never part of the plan.

We’re talking about Foster Davis here.

Chicago Colts closing pitcher.

The broody king of one-word answers.

And the man everyone knows keeps one foot out the door.

Surprisingly, when two pink lines turn my world upside down, Foster doesn’t run. He steps in, he shows up, and he insists we do this together.

Pretending we’re fine is easy. Pretending this is just about the baby? Not so much.

Because Foster is gentle when no one’s watching.

Because he looks at me like I’m something worth protecting.

Because the walls he’s built start to crack—and I’m the one he’s letting inside.

Our arrangement was supposed to be simple. Boundaries were set. Co-parents and no catching feelings.

Okay, maybe a few sex lessons were added in too. Bad idea, I know.

Because the more time I spend with Foster Davis, the harder it is to remember why I ever thought he was the risky choice.

I haven't read a couple by these authors that I didn't like. But Foster and Callie just seemed to be smooth. Yes they had some issues to overcome--not wanting a relationship being a big one! But at their hearts, they truly just wanted to be seen and be loved for who they are.

Great sports writing once again. Love that this one came out right at the start of baseball season. Great story to just grab up while you listen to your favorite team in the background.

Callie was so confident and independent. I loved watching her let down those walls a bit and open her heart to possibility. Great to see the rest of the guys in the apartments as well. Looking forward to seeing more of them in upcoming books.

Release & Review: The Hope We Dare

Blurb:

From USA Today best selling author Scarlett Cole, writing as S. Cole, comes an electrifying MMF, grumpy x sunshine x lightning, motorcycle club romance.

Isla

I wanted to be loved by a biker with my whole heart, but all they ever took was my body.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped recognizing the woman I’d become.
Inheriting my Nanna’s rundown house is the fresh start I need.
A life away from the club. Away from men who only ever take.
So the last thing I need is Jackal and Shade moving into the only other house on the street...and offering me more than just help with renovations.

Shade

I’ve never thought I was worth loving.
I’m grumpy, withdrawn, and come with baggage.
Jackal saw through all that and loved me anyway. For me, he chose monogamy.
Men like me don’t get one great love, let alone two.
But I’m looking at Isla differently now...and wondering if there’s a way to love her without destroying what we’ve built.

Jackal

I fell in love with Shade the day I met him, even though he had no intention of loving me back.
He wanted monogamy, and he was worth the sacrifice.
But now he’s looking at Isla the same way I am.
And I can’t stop imagining a life where the three of us choose each other.

Until violence hits, and we don’t know which of us is the target.
We’ve been given the kind of love you only dare to hope for.
And we’ll burn the world down to protect it.

Review

I have been waiting for Jackal and Shade's story. I just knew there was more to them. The couple just bought their first house with the intent to stay with this Outlaw club and no longer be nomads.  They are in a committed relationship but not necessarily out to their brothers.

The author once again does a great job explaining all the in depth barriers these characters encounter in their lives. I appreciate not just sugar coating what is happening.  I felt like Isla redeemed herself from previous actions. She truly needed to reset and find her true self.

I am saddened by the authors comments int he book about loosing readers based on this series and the previous book in general. All kinds of people make up this world. Love is love and ultimately, this author writes about finding, needing and keeping love.

I can't wait to head to Florida and meet anew bunch of Iron Outlaws. I do hope we get to see this bunch again in future books.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

About the Author:

Scarlett Cole is a contemporary romance and romantic suspense author who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

Release & Review: Wilde Ride

From New York Times bestselling author, Kelly Elliott, comes a new small town, family saga series.

Emeline

Seven years.

That’s how long it’s been since I last came face-to-face with Levi Tucker. He’s my old brother’s best
friend, and the man I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. Now he’s back in River Falls, along
with his young son, Rhett, and suddenly they’re woven into both my personal and professional life.

The last thing I expected was the wild, undeniable pull between Levi and me to turn something
strictly professional into something deeply personal. But Levi’s past is closing in, and this time, I
refuse to walk away. I’m ready to fight for the life and the love I want, because both Levi and Rhett

Tucker are worth the battle.

Levi

Tragedy brings my son, Rhett, and me back to River Falls, Colorado. After losing my daughter in a
devastating car accident and watching my marriage fall apart, returning home feels like my last
chance to start over.

When I’m roped into volunteering at the Wilde Families summer camp for underprivileged kids, the
last person I expect to fall for is my best friend’s younger sister. For the first time, I can see a future
filled with love and happiness for my son and me. Yet when my soon-to-be ex-wife reappears in

River Falls, everything I’ve begun to build is suddenly at risk.

Will the past destroy our second chance, or will true love finally get its happily ever after?

Wilde Ride is book 2 in the Love is a Cowboy series.

Review

This is a second book in the series but can easily be read as a stand alone. Go ahead and read the first book though since you get more back story about this family. This series will follow the Wilde siblings as they find love and HEA's.  Emeline is first up.

This is a sort of second chances although not really since they never had a first go.  But Emeline has loved Levi since she was a little girl. As her brother's best friend she really felt she never had a chance. Until Levi moves back home with his young son in tow. Both of them are products of their small town.

But, love knows what it wants. I am so happy that they didn't spend much time with the "we can't, what about my best friend? You are only a little sister to me...." Small amount of that but they got over themselves quick.  I loved Emeline's character so much. Such a strong young women who knows what she wants in life.

Loved seeing the town people again.  Love the Wilde family to pieces!  Looking forward to another sibling getting their happy ever after!  Great story!

Review

This is the final book of this Firebird and the Wolf trilogy and it wraps up the story line nicely. You will have to have read the precious books in order to follow the story.

This one takes place a few years after the 2nd book. Tatyana and Oleg are very much in love but they are still hiding their relationship and missing each other terribly.

There is lots of scheming and planning and vampire pomp in this.  It touched a just a bit too political for me but such is the world of the vampire kings. I did love Oleg and Tatyana together.  I love the setting and all the side characters.

Great way to finish out this story line.  Nice little easter egg hidden in this one for fans of her other work in this world. Grab all 3 and enjoy getting to know the vampires of Russia.
