Fresh out of college, I stumbled into the opportunity of a lifetime. A classmate of my favorite professor was looking to retire and sell his animal hospital. With a lot of help and a giant push from my sister and her husband, I made an offer. I’m now the proud owner of Wags Veterinary Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey.

Life is good. I have a home with a beautifully landscaped lawn, a business that I love, and an amazing tribe of friends who encourage me to “put myself out there.” Truth be told, I prefer animals over most people. I’m happy with the occasional girls’ night in and catching a glimpse of the hot neighbor, who I undeniably fantasize about, and do so often.

Those fantasies, however, come to a dramatic end when I see him walking his new puppy on my property and not cleaning up its mess, twice. There’s nothing hot about a man who doesn’t take care of his shit, or his dog’s. Nothing.

This is the second book of the series and fans of the Steel series will LOVE this one.  So many familiar faces!  And Memphis Black annnnddd Tris's band!  All great fan girl worthy moments.

And then we meet Roman Hart.  Oh my.  A bit grumpy at first but he has a golden heart and is just an all around great person. He's grumpy about trying to not fall in love since his heart was burned before. But once he starts getting to know his neighbor CeCe, all bets are off. 

We know CeCe as the baby sister of Chloe. This group of friends grew up on Texas together and are not mostly located in Trenton.  The banter and hanging out together times are some of the best I have read. Cece and Rome are perfect together. I love how he goes with her pace and her need for safety and security. 

There is a bit of tension and a dramatic climax to the story. But these two hold true and support each other. Really Heart describes the both of them to a tee.  They both are about family and trust and having each other's backs.  

Loved meeting more of the team. Rome's family is awesome and well.  Would love to see Jillian and Hudson get some love! 

I can't wait to reach the next one.  Lots of fireworks coming between Locke and Gwen I think!

I love a great single parent story and this one has two!  Technically they are both parents to their young daughter but they aren't "together" --  or are there? 

Hudson and Palmer are best friends. They just happen to share a child together. They live next door and neither of them wants to have anything more--right? But other relationships just don't seem to work out for them.  Palmer is a romance writer and she has mental block. Until she is inspired to write a very familiar story. One she knows too well. 

These two have lots of chemistry and it is evident to everyone but them that they are destined to be together. It was fun to watch them try to figure out what they meant to each other and what life could be if they just gave in. 

I haven't read any other book in this series and it was no problem picking up the small town characters. Sweet read.

It's been a minute since the first book of this series came out. I forgot about this great group of found family.  Miles and his brothers were in foster care together and they all now work in the law enforcement field. Miles is a single parent to Winter and the whole family helps him raising her. 

Emma is best friends with Mile's brother's girlfriend and so she gets introduced.  What starts as two friends helping each other out, turns in to a great friendship and then turns into more. This is a slow burn with great bones to the relationship. There is some angst. Some tension due to the work that Miles and his brothers are involved in that has continues over from the previous book. 

Overall a wonderful read!  I am very much looking forward to the next brother find his HEA.

This is book two of the series. This one follows oldest sister Harper. Her and Joe have history and we see quite a bit of their interactions in the first book. This one overlaps some time frame but we see it from Harp and Joe's perspective. 

I admit to figuring out right away what the big animosity was tied to. I thought I would just plod through the story. It was a nice surprise to see their HEA unfold. It could have totally gone a different direction. I appreciate their honest when all was said and done. 

Great family story. Both Joe and Harper have the total support form not only family but you get the sense the whole town is cheering for them. Nice groundwork laid for the remaining siblings as well. 

Great addition to the series.  Looking forward wo book 3!

Previously published under a pen name. This was my second read of the story.

Close proximity, brothers best friend trope. Thea joins her brother at his university and moves into the house he and his teammates share. She gets along with them all very well and her brother is happy to have her.

Housemate Kyler is a bit standoffish but Thea is drawn to him. As they get closer, secrets come out. Thea's ex is horrendous. I can't even imagine what she say in him in the first place. I don't think he changed just as she moved away to school.

Twist, turns and some tension. The heart knows what it wants, though and these two were destined to be together. Can't wait to catch up with them later on should the series continue.

This author can write small town romance like no other. Throw in some siblings, nosy town folks and a second chance romance and this book is about as good as it gets for a feel good romance. 

Luke and Laina have a history. She's the girl he let get away. When she finds she needs a quick getaway, she runs to Luke knowing he will protect her. At one time they meant the world to each other. Fame got in the way but their hearts seem to have remained true. 

Love the whole Marshall family. Loved Laina and Luke together. Just a great read. Very little angst--most of it around her parents and ex. And the two leads have a ton of chemistry.
