Release Blitz & Review: The Fling

Release Date: May 27
From Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson comes a new stand-alone romantic comedy.

What happens when you make a pact with your boys to stay single and never fall in love?

Well, you get the Playboy Pact.

I was the playmaker. The one with the best moves, the best lines. I was the best at everything…

And I mean, everything.

There was no woman immune to my charm. To my looks. To my bed-hopping ways.

It was supposed to be easy. A quick, fun, mind-blowing night where she screamed out my name in ecstasy.

No feelings.

No past.

No strings attached.

I broke the rules.

I broke the pact.

I fell for her smile.

Her laugh.

Our instant connection.

Except, I never expected to fall in love.

Especially with a single mom…

Of twins.

I am a sucker for a single parent trope so I know I had to read this book. I also have read book one and I liked the premise of the playboy pact.  It seemed as though book 1 spent a lot of time on the angst and turmoil of breaking the pact.  Fortunately, Ashton realizes early on what Sage means to him and he gives up the pact pretty willingly.

The rest of the  book was a pretty light read. Swoony romance and some humor. A couple who adores each other and wants to take the time to get to know one another. Loved seeing the other guys in the pact again as well.

The one off for me in the book was Haiden.  I understand children acting up when they aren't happy about circumstances. He had every right to do so. It was a stretch for me, knowing child development as my day job, that this child had enough premeditative thought that he was able to set up all the things that happened to Asher. Seven year olds are impulsive and it would be perfectly fine if he was acting out--yelling, stomping, hitting.  The level of preplanning for all of the events and tricks he played---not typical.  Haiden became the villain in the story and not once did I get the sense that he had anything but love and support from his family. His personality knocked me out of the story.

Overall, an enjoyable book. Short read with a swoon worthy hero.
