Cole Haywood is a small-town fireman and that’s just fine with him. Sure, when the love of his life left their hometown to chase her dreams he was heartbroken and—he’ll admit—damn mad. But Cole would have never forgiven himself if he had held Aubrey back from success. So the last thing he expects after all these years is to walk into his favorite bar one night and find the girl he’s always loved—there—looking for him. Maybe now’s the time to make his dreams come true.
I love this author's writing style, so it was a no brainer to pick up this latest work. Perfect second chance love story! Aubrey and Cole parted ways abruptly when they were fresh high school graduates but all the emotion tied up in that departure never settled down.
Aubrey has a medical scare and decides to not put her life on hold any more. She sets out to see and do everything she has always wanted, including setting to right her heart.
Cole still holds s grudge with Aubrey but she still holds his heart. Loved seeing them try to wade through all that has happened between them. Loved the secondary characters almost as much as these two. Small town setting and lots of memories. Really sweet love story.
I hope to see more of this couple in future books!

Not only does she love to write, but she loves to play tennis, go on mountain hikes, white water rafting, and you can’t forget the passion for singing. Her two number one fans expect a concert each and every night before bedtime and those songs usually consist of Christmas carols.
Aside from being a wife and mother, L.P. Dover has written countless novels including her Forever Fae series, the Second Chances series, the Gloves Off series, the Armed & Dangerous series, the Royal Shifters series, and her standalone novel, Love, Lies, and Deception. Her favorite genre to read is romantic suspense and she also loves writing it. However, if she had to choose a setting to live in it would have to be with her faeries in the Land of the Fae.
