Review: The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire

Title: The Good, the Bad and the Vampire
Author: Sara Humphreys
Published: January 5th 2016 by Sourcebooks Casablanca
Genre: Paranormal

Beloved author Sara Humphreys' acclaimed paranormal romance series continues with sweltering attraction between two vampires who have all the time in the world to satisfy their desires...

He wants eternity?
Dakota Shelton is a vampire cowboy with a penchant for cinnamon lollipops and Johnny Cash. Though highly skilled and deadly dangerous to his enemies, he's still a Texas good ol' boy at heart. And he has that heart set on wooing Trixie LaRoux-the most badass punk rock chick in town-the old-fashioned way.

Over her undead body...
Trixie is tough as nails and sharp as a silver stake-the last thing she wants is a man to sit on a porch and not grow old with. So it'll take going to hell and back fighting a new threat to vampires before she admits Dakota's courtship makes her blood hum. Turns out chivalry's not dead after all.

Praise for The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire....
"Sara Humphreys combines vampire and cowboy into a devastatingly sexy hero! The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire is a compelling, pulse-pounding, titillating adventure that grabs you from the first page, tosses you down, and steals your breath. Humphreys is a must-read in the paranormal genre!"--NYT Bestselling Author, Rebecca Zanetti

4 hearts

This is the 4th book in the Dead in the City series.  The author had created this wonderful paranormal world set in modern day New York.  Vampires, shifters, gargoyles, witches…this book brings out all the things that go bump in the night!  We meet Dakota, newest enforcer for the Vampires.  He is a classic good old fashioned cowboy.  A very s3xy cowboy.  He has his eye Ms. Trixie LaRoux.  Being the bad a$$ party girl that she is, she has no intention of getting involved with a vampire.  She absolutely does not want anyone poking around in her business, even her well meaning family.

Dakota proves to be just as stubborn as Trixie and won’t give up without a fight.  Loved the sharp wit and one liners between these two.  Trixie can’t deny she is attracted to the stubborn cowboy but she isn’t ready to give her heart away yet.  When trouble comes looking for those Trixie cares about, Dakota steps up to help her out.  Despite her reluctance, her heart starts to latch on to Dakota.  They are destined to be mates.

This book has lots of action.  An unknown menace.  Lots of guilty baggage the hero and heroine are hanging on to.  Oh, and all the steamy benefits of having a true mate of your own.  Loved that Trixie held her own and although she fell in love, she didn’t give up her attitude or strong determination.  Loved catching up with the previous couples in the series as well.  Overall….just a lovely read!  Start at the beginning so you understand the world building.  Enjoy getting to know this author!
