This is the conclusion to the story that had Haley and Brando coming together musically and emotionally in Book 1 only to have a nail biting cliff hanger leaving us begging for Book 2. The conclusion could not have been more perfect! Brando is by far my favorite character written by this author. Oh, Jax and Dylan were hot. And they both had a sweet melty spot for their women. Brando had been set up in Insatiable to be a typical manwhore--- Without much depth, living from one one-night stand to the next. What Mr. Hawkins gave us was a character so rich and multi-layered, the reader could not help but fall in love with him.
The ground work was well laid in Book 1. Both Brando and Haley used music as an outlet. A way to connect to something. Brando saw that in Haley and wanted to tap into the light that came out when she played her music. Loved how the music theme carried through to their love making. The scene in the private box during Lexi’s concert was HAWT!!! I could feel the drum beat!
There is a fair bit of action and travel in this book. Until the very end, it’s difficult to tell whether the Hero will win the girl or not. For all the yumminess that is Brando, I think Lexi has to be one of the most vile characters I have read in a long while. She is the capital B in Beeyotch. Nothing redeeming about her and she is just down right mean. Kudos for great character development!
Always a pleasure to read this author but this set of books is probably his best to date. Looking forward to what he brings to the table next!
