I have read several books by this author but not the Broken Trilogy and Blackstone series. This is a spin off of those. Because of that, I was a little confused in the beginning. Once the story jumped back in time to 1974, I was invested.
This is an origin story. It tells the horrors of war. The price our soldiers paid once they came home. And the heartwarming strength of the Logan family that started the healing process. What a great intro to what is to come.
There are spoilers if you haven't read the other series. I'm not sure that I will go back and read those. I am very interested in this whole team of soldiers and what they are fighting for. I look forward to the next book and who may have an HEA going forward.
Love seeing the kiddos as they grow. I'm hoping to see more of the next gen and the books move forward.
