This author continues to bring it with this new stand alone suspense. Rain and her teenage daughter move to an idyllic neighborhood, trying to escape the pain of loss and the hurt of a troubled marriage. After the neighbors introduce themselves, I am sceptical that this is all roses as Rain would llike it to be. Add in the almost insta love of Heston and I got even more suspicious.
Rain is a strong character and the story is told in her POV. Her and her daughter are represented pretty true to form between a mother and teen girl. It's the other characters that seem rushed. We get glimpses--some good, some bad. The story unfolds with a twist, I admit I didn't guess. Heston is not the kind man her first appears.
Where the story perhaps goes off rails for me, is near the end and we meet the tattooed, scowling neighbor. He made the story for me. I wanted to know him. I wanted to meet him. I wanted to know more about his brothers. Please give us more of them!
Overall a good read. The suspense was minimal but the plot twist was worth it in the end.
M.N. Forgy is an International best seller, best known for her romantic biker stories. Living in the country with her family she often finds herself outside reading or writing most of the time. She started creating stories at a young age but never took it seriously until years later, as a stay-at-home mom, she opened her laptop and started writing again. As a role model for her children, she felt she couldn't live with the "what if" anymore and finally took a chance on her character's story. So, with her iced coffee in hand and the family dog sharing her seat, she continues to create and please her readers.
