I have read every book in this series and I continue to be impressed with the writing of this author Each story is fresh and unexpected. The Mafia trope is familiar but I have been blown away with what the author puts out with i that world for us to digest.
We know Dante as the oldest Gallo. Loves his siblings but is broody and rough around the edges. This is his story and we finally get to see why he is that way.
I am usually not a fan of flash back stories. What the author gives us here, is a a complete story from beginning to end. Although we have met Dante in current time, This book begins 9 years earlier and moves forward in time as though we have just met this couple. This is a second chance love story with two people that should not have been separated to begin with. But both Simone's family and Dante's family's business combined to tear them apart.
Great action moments throughout the story. A bit of suspense that I was not expecting. Always great to see the rest of both families. Looking forward to Riona and Seb's books.
