Release Blitz & Review: Craft

Title: Craft

Series: The Gibson Boys #2

Author: Adriana Locke
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 14, 2018

They’re not quite enemies. Not really friends.

More like frustrated balls of sexual tension and neither will give in.

Lance Gibson drives Mariah Malarkey absolutely crazy. He uses her office like a phone booth, takes cupcakes from the corner of her desk like she baked them just for him. She didn’t. Maybe she knew the history teacher happened to love peanut butter icing, but that was purely a coincidence. All sixteen times.

Mariah has a way of getting under Lance’s skin too. She calls him out on his crap, spoils him even if inadvertently, and seeing the librarian in skirts drives him wild. She won’t give in. It’s for the best, really, considering there’s no way he could lie to a woman like that and he’s not about to tell her the truth about himself. Not in a million years.

These two don’t hate each other. They don’t really like each other. But for this to be a friends-to-lovers story, they have to start somewhere, right?

Note: This can be read as a standalone novel.

This is the second book of the series.  We meet Lance in Crank and soon realize he is up for any woman any time.  No need to settle down at all.  He is the oldest brother but maybe the most free spirited of the bunch.  Oh....but there are more layers to this man that what he puts forth on the surface.  Even his brothers and cousin don't know the full details of his life.

Mariah works with Lance.  Drools over him from afar but knows he isn't long term material.  Strange how love strikes those when they least expect it.  Great scenes between these two and they become friends and then more friendly.  Lance has some burdens but Mariah doesn't have a stellar history to brag about either. She is more forgiving/ understanding than any person Lance has ever met.

I enjoyed the first book a bit more than this one. Maybe because of the familiarity with Sienna before the story started but I also think Walker was a bit more interesting of a character.  This story is well written.  Very little angst and once Lance gets his head screwed on straight, all is good.  It's a light romantic comedy with some familiar characters from book 1. (psst...Peck...please....give us more Peck!)  Perfect Sunday afternoon read!
