Release Blitz & Review: Breakaway

Title: Breakaway: A Rule Book Novel
Author: A.M. Johnson
Genre: Sports Romance (Stand alone)
Release Date: March 15, 2018

As Tampa Bay's star center, Mark Carmelo's life was hockey, and after a bitter and public break up, all he wanted to do was focus on the game.

Until he saw her.

The one that got away.

The one he thought he'd never see again.

For thirteen years, Stevie West drowned in her lackluster life. Recently divorced from her “roommate” with passionless benefits, she was ready to start over. On her own.

Until she ran into him.

The same man she'd met one year ago.

The temptation that had finally given her the courage to find herself again.

When lightning strikes twice, there’s no way to deny the chemistry it creates.

But with both of them still nursing old wounds, Mark and Stevie will have to find a way around the other's defenses, a way to breakaway and score the one thing they never expected… love.

4 Hearts

I have read one other book by this author but this is the first Sports Romance.  I'm not sure if this is her typical genre or not.  We see a little bit of hockey action but mostly we get Mark and Stevie trying to make a go of a relationship around the hockey schedule.

I loved both meet cutes with this couple.  I loved most of the secondary characters, except for Ben---boo!  A little bit of unnecessary angst.  They are not new adults for goodness sake.  COMMUNICATION.  That's all it takes.

Overall a pretty good read.  I would be interested in reading more about this team if the author chooses to go that route.
