I received an advanced recipe to review prior to publication.  Super easy to follow and tasted fabulous.  I grilled my burgers but you could just as easily pan fry if you wanted to. Swiss cheese gives a sharper taste to the finished product, but I also tried some with havarti and it still tasted terrific!  I can't wait to try out more of the recipes in the book.  Everything looks like it will be yummy!

Mushroom Swiss Burgers with Garlic Aioli

Garlic Aioli

1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons lemon juice

Burgers

1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon Worstershire sauce
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup baby bella mushrooms, thinly sliced
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 hamburger buns

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, garlic, salt, pepper and lemon  juice. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. In a large bowl, combine  the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and  Worstershire sauce. Form into 4 (¼pound) burger patties. Heat butter in a  large saucepan over medium heat. Place mushrooms in pan and sauté for  3-5 minutes or until they are tender. Remove from heat and set aside until  ready to build the burgers. Using a gas grill over high heat, grill the burgers  for 3 minutes, then flip and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes or until desired  doneness. Place one slice of Swiss cheese on each burger during the last  minute of cooking. Remove burgers from the grill. Spread a generous amount  of Garlic Aioli on each side of the buns. Place the burgers on  top of the buns and top with sautéed mushrooms.

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.
