I really wanted to love this story. It has the Sports part of the Sports Romance down perfect. Pro Football--inside, outside, upside down. From training camp to the Super Bowl, the author slams us with gritty football facts and seemingly real life action. LOVED that part of it!
The rest....ehhh..... I found myself skipping big chunks of it. At one point I jumped ahead 10 chapters and had no problem still following the story. It's forbidden romance but Gillian and Lucas fall into the insta-lust category. Despite all the hurdles, it develops into a great friendship and eventually love. I do like Gillian a lot. She is very determined and strong in her beliefs. She choses to live in a male dominated world and has no problem holding her own. She has a great sense of humor and a playfulness that drives Lucas crazy.
If you like football, you will like the bulk of the story. The rest of the story line was just ok for me.
