I’ve never known the calm after the storm.
Thunder has always raged inside me.

I met a girl at seventeen.
Girl got pregnant.
My worst nightmare happened.
Girl? Dead.
Daughter? Gone.
Every time I close my eyes, I see them.
No one takes me seriously in the MC.
And that’s how I like it.
I keep my true self−hidden because without them, life hasn’t been worth living.
Until her.
Melissa is the shock to my heart to bring me back to life.
Our nightmares bind us.
And to love her like she deserves, I have to let go of the past.
I have to let go of them.
It’s easier said than done.
Because I know in my heart my daughter is alive.
I’ll need the help of my MC to find her.
But Melissa’s past isn’t done with her either.

What I didn’t expect?
Ours pasts to cross.
And the road to trust just got a whole lot longer.

Excerpt

My soul is black, my heart is grim, and my mind is made up. Love’s a culprit to my sadistic tendencies.
I wait to get to the edge of the end of the driveway before taking a right down the road, and that’s when I let me engine go.
I fly down the path, my cut whipping from the wind, and I begin to think about my target, what I want, who I want, and why.

Poodle is the 4th book in this series. Each story line has been unique. I wasn't sure where this was going to lead with Poodle. Our previous glimpse of him is just humor around his dog and his hair. I was in no way prepared for all of his secrets.

Melissa is one of the women the MC rescued in the previous stories. She has stayed at the compound. She has secrets she isn't willing to share yet.  Poodle has some even darker ones. I like Poodle. I get where his pain is coming from. Melissa seems a good match for him. She takes him as he is--no judgement. I am always a champion for the underdog--the man with the heavy burden to bear. In this case, I felt like Melissa's past was mentioned but really brushed aside. I can't imagine a women in real life picking up her bootstraps all by herself and carrying on and then jumping into a relationship on top of it.  I think the story would have done better justice if the hero needed to help out our heroine just a bit.  I am glad Melissa was there for Poodle. I just felt she needed some additional support besides talking to Doc, to work through her past.

Good addition to the series. You will want to read these in order.  Great sense of the MC and the brotherhood that binds them all together.

K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.

If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.
