Review: Insatiable book 1

Blurb

It’s not cocky when you've got the goods to back it up.

Lust-maker. Pleasure giver. Fantasy creator. I can blow your mind in five seconds flat — but trust me, you’ll want this to last all night.

There’s not a woman in the city who can resist me. Except one.

Now she’s got a proposition: Seven days. Every position. No strings attached.

She wants to know what she’s been missing.

Who am I to say no?

Review

Wow!  It has taken me couple of days to organize my thoughts on this book.  Hopefully I can put into words all the yumminess that I read so you will want to.

First off, this is a debut novel by a male author writing in the erotica category.  Nicely done, Mr. Hawkins!  Seriously well written, well edited and a great story line along with all the sexy times.  This novel tells the story of Jax and Lizzie.  Jax is never looking for a relationship and Lizzie is just coming out of the only relationship she has ever had that lasted for 8 years.

So, Jax.  Major manwhore.  Very wealthy.  Very intelligent.  Never wants to fall in love.  Oh, and the manwhore title comes along with all the sexy moves you would expect from a player. He has the body.  He has the pick- up lines. He screams sex on a stick. He has taken watching people to a science.  He plays so well because he understands those who are being played.  I appreciated that Jax came across as exactly what he proclaimed to be.  He was never pretending to be something more than he appeared.  He never led any woman on to believe they would mean more to him.

Lizzie.  Innocent but not really.  Not terribly experienced in the bedroom.  Sassy.  Lacking some self-confidence.  I loved that she recognized where she could improve and put Jax up to the task of helping her expand her sexual repertoire.

As the story progressed, it was nice to see Jax make attempts to become a better person, while helping Lizzie realize her potential.  One of my favorite Jax quotes:

“Sex doesn’t start and stop in the bedroom.  Sex is happening all around you.  It’s a dance.  The world is full of it.  It starts when you decide what to wear in the morning.  It’s there when you exchange a look with a stranger.  The way you walk, the way you talk, the places you go and things you do.  Stop thinking sex is just taking your clothes off in the bedroom and fucking like an old married couple.  Good sex is a lifestyle choice, not an occasion. “

My only issue with the book is that is ends---way too early!!!  I know it makes me pant and hover over that one click button, waiting for the next part of the story to come out.  But honestly, I would have read both books, the whole story, in one sitting.  Keep a look out for this author.  Love the start and looking forward to seeing more by JD Hawkins!
