This is the third book of the series and each one gets better and better. This is a fake relationship trope and I'm not usually a fan of those. But having met Avery in the previous stories, I was so surprised by his underlying character that the story sucked me in before I could protest too much.
Avery doesn't do relationships and Helena needs to have one in a hurry. Avery is a good guy and agrees to help her out. Just a few publicity moments here and there. It wasn't supposed to be more. They come from different circles. But the two of them connect as friends and the chemistry between them is off the charts.
There is a bit of angst when doubts of worth pop into Avery's head. Good thing the gang at Bird's Eye is there to lift him up and get his head screwed on straight.
I loved these two together. I loved seeing under all the polish of Helena to the good person she was. It was great to see the other couples in the group as well and catch up with them. Parts of this story happen concurrently with Will but with Avery's POV.
Great addition to the series. I can't wait to read more about this group of friends.
