This book is listed as King series #8. It can easily be read as a stand alone but, my God! If you haven't read the King series yet---WHY??
Up in Smoke continues on the vein of the rest of the series. Dark, lots of action, super hot, explosive sex, some humor and along the way, a couple of hearts get caught up on a tangled mess. That about sums up a TM Frazier book.
This is Smoke's story. We have met him in some of the King books and most prominent in Rage's story. He's a thug for hire and he is very good. Frankie becomes his captive. What evolves is a love/hate relationship. Neither one wants to admit the draw and they fight it as long as they can.
Always expect the unexpected---always--with this author. You never know all that you think you know. Big twists along with the action. Perfect read.
Those who have read the series will be happy to see some familiar faces. For me, Rage made the story. Her past with Smoke, her forgiveness and her role in the ending of the story all made her vital to the outcome and HEA for Smoke and Frankie.
