Release & Review: The Wild Card

Published April 2, 2026

Blurb

Getting pregnant after a one-night stand with my brother’s best friend was never part of the plan.

We’re talking about Foster Davis here.

Chicago Colts closing pitcher.

The broody king of one-word answers.

And the man everyone knows keeps one foot out the door.

Surprisingly, when two pink lines turn my world upside down, Foster doesn’t run. He steps in, he shows up, and he insists we do this together.

Pretending we’re fine is easy. Pretending this is just about the baby? Not so much.

Because Foster is gentle when no one’s watching.

Because he looks at me like I’m something worth protecting.

Because the walls he’s built start to crack—and I’m the one he’s letting inside.

Our arrangement was supposed to be simple. Boundaries were set. Co-parents and no catching feelings.

Okay, maybe a few sex lessons were added in too. Bad idea, I know.

Because the more time I spend with Foster Davis, the harder it is to remember why I ever thought he was the risky choice.

Review

I haven't read a couple by these authors that I didn't like. But Foster and Callie just seemed to be smooth. Yes they had some issues to overcome--not wanting a relationship being a big one! But at their hearts, they truly just wanted to be seen and be loved for who they are.

Great sports writing once again. Love that this one came out right at the start of baseball season. Great story to just grab up while you listen to your favorite team in the background.

Callie was so confident and independent. I loved watching her let down those walls a bit and open her heart to possibility. Great to see the rest of the guys in the apartments as well. Looking forward to seeing more of them in upcoming books.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In a moving story of love and loss, a corporate consultant leaves her life behind to care for her dying friend’s children—and finds hope with the small-town coach who steps up to the plate with her.

From the author of The Art of Starting Over comes a heartfelt portrait of what it means to build a family, as a young woman navigates grief, guardianship, and the bittersweet gift of falling in love.

Antonia drops everything—her job, her relationship—to be there for the Vaughns. Playing mom to Miriam’s teenage son and seven-year-old daughter is a tall order made heavier by grief. But the kids need her, and she needs them.

Then there’s the boy’s coach and mentor, former MLB star Weston Schmidt. He’s a pillar of support, a safe space for Antonia to rest. But there’s too much going on to even think about romance … or maybe that’s exactly why they should.

Release & Review: The Hope We Dare

Blurb:

From USA Today best selling author Scarlett Cole, writing as S. Cole, comes an electrifying MMF, grumpy x sunshine x lightning, motorcycle club romance.

Isla

I wanted to be loved by a biker with my whole heart, but all they ever took was my body.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped recognizing the woman I’d become.
Inheriting my Nanna’s rundown house is the fresh start I need.
A life away from the club. Away from men who only ever take.
So the last thing I need is Jackal and Shade moving into the only other house on the street...and offering me more than just help with renovations.

Shade

I’ve never thought I was worth loving.
I’m grumpy, withdrawn, and come with baggage.
Jackal saw through all that and loved me anyway. For me, he chose monogamy.
Men like me don’t get one great love, let alone two.
But I’m looking at Isla differently now...and wondering if there’s a way to love her without destroying what we’ve built.

Jackal

I fell in love with Shade the day I met him, even though he had no intention of loving me back.
He wanted monogamy, and he was worth the sacrifice.
But now he’s looking at Isla the same way I am.
And I can’t stop imagining a life where the three of us choose each other.

Until violence hits, and we don’t know which of us is the target.
We’ve been given the kind of love you only dare to hope for.
And we’ll burn the world down to protect it.

Review

I have been waiting for Jackal and Shade's story. I just knew there was more to them. The couple just bought their first house with the intent to stay with this Outlaw club and no longer be nomads.  They are in a committed relationship but not necessarily out to their brothers.

The author once again does a great job explaining all the in depth barriers these characters encounter in their lives. I appreciate not just sugar coating what is happening.  I felt like Isla redeemed herself from previous actions. She truly needed to reset and find her true self.

I am saddened by the authors comments int he book about loosing readers based on this series and the previous book in general. All kinds of people make up this world. Love is love and ultimately, this author writes about finding, needing and keeping love.

I can't wait to head to Florida and meet anew bunch of Iron Outlaws. I do hope we get to see this bunch again in future books.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Release & Review: Wilde Ride

From New York Times bestselling author, Kelly Elliott, comes a new small town, family saga series.

Emeline

Seven years.

That’s how long it’s been since I last came face-to-face with Levi Tucker. He’s my old brother’s best
friend, and the man I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. Now he’s back in River Falls, along
with his young son, Rhett, and suddenly they’re woven into both my personal and professional life.

The last thing I expected was the wild, undeniable pull between Levi and me to turn something
strictly professional into something deeply personal. But Levi’s past is closing in, and this time, I
refuse to walk away. I’m ready to fight for the life and the love I want, because both Levi and Rhett

Tucker are worth the battle.

Levi

Tragedy brings my son, Rhett, and me back to River Falls, Colorado. After losing my daughter in a
devastating car accident and watching my marriage fall apart, returning home feels like my last
chance to start over.

When I’m roped into volunteering at the Wilde Families summer camp for underprivileged kids, the
last person I expect to fall for is my best friend’s younger sister. For the first time, I can see a future
filled with love and happiness for my son and me. Yet when my soon-to-be ex-wife reappears in

River Falls, everything I’ve begun to build is suddenly at risk.

Will the past destroy our second chance, or will true love finally get its happily ever after?

Wilde Ride is book 2 in the Love is a Cowboy series.

Review

This is a second book in the series but can easily be read as a stand alone. Go ahead and read the first book though since you get more back story about this family. This series will follow the Wilde siblings as they find love and HEA's.  Emeline is first up.

This is a sort of second chances although not really since they never had a first go.  But Emeline has loved Levi since she was a little girl. As her brother's best friend she really felt she never had a chance. Until Levi moves back home with his young son in tow. Both of them are products of their small town.

But, love knows what it wants. I am so happy that they didn't spend much time with the "we can't, what about my best friend? You are only a little sister to me...." Small amount of that but they got over themselves quick.  I loved Emeline's character so much. Such a strong young women who knows what she wants in life.

Loved seeing the town people again.  Love the Wilde family to pieces!  Looking forward to another sibling getting their happy ever after!  Great story!

Review

This is the final book of this Firebird and the Wolf trilogy and it wraps up the story line nicely. You will have to have read the precious books in order to follow the story.

This one takes place a few years after the 2nd book. Tatyana and Oleg are very much in love but they are still hiding their relationship and missing each other terribly.

There is lots of scheming and planning and vampire pomp in this.  It touched a just a bit too political for me but such is the world of the vampire kings. I did love Oleg and Tatyana together.  I love the setting and all the side characters.

Great way to finish out this story line.  Nice little easter egg hidden in this one for fans of her other work in this world. Grab all 3 and enjoy getting to know the vampires of Russia.

Review

This is the first book by this author in this genre. I love a single parent trope and well as a good MC book. This one leans dark so be sure to read the content warnings.

Layne witnesses the horrible murder of her husband and then decides to pick up her daughter and move back to the town she grew up in. With no parents to support her, she is at least looking for familiarity. Unfortunately in her mind, her past is tied to the MC.

Kyler remembers all the things about Layne and is willing to pick right back up. But she needs to trust again and her trouble may have followed her to their small town.

Great first book in the series.  You get a good sense as to how the MC is run. We don't see too many old ladies but Kyler's mom is a sweetie.  I like that Kyler is patient with Layne's feelings but not with her safety. I like his good friends and his brother. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wilde Cowboy by Kelly Elliott is now live!

Ladd

As the son of a third-generation cattle rancher, it's expected that I would follow in the footsteps of my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and work the family ranch just as they did.

However, that wasn't my dream, and thankfully, my parents stood behind me when I told them I wanted to open a sporting goods store in our hometown of River Falls, Colorado. That's my plan. My endgame, and nothing is going to distract me from that goal.

Then, I met Vivianne Pennington. It soon becomes clear to me that Vivianne is now a part of my dreams, and when I bring her home for Christmas, my entire family and the town of River Falls fall head over heels in love with her.

Vivianne

I've gone and found myself in love with a cowboy from a small town in Colorado. When Ladd's mother and father insist that I come and spend Christmas with them on the family's cattle ranch, I'm both excited and nervous.

It becomes clear to me that Ladd's family has deep roots in the community and a family bond I've never experienced before. Estranged from my own parents, I long to be a part of the Wilde family and start to see myself living on the ranch and being a part of the community.

But I'm keeping a secret from my past. A secret that I'm terrified will destroy the future I envision, and I'm scared to lose the wild cowboy who has stolen my heart.

Review

Such a sweet story.  So truth facts--I didn't read the full description of the book.  I like this author and was happy to read the start of anew series.  I am reading along and thinking--is this going to flash forward to present time?  What is happening here? Well no--that was not what this story was.

This is the first book int he series but nicely, the author decided to share the VERY beginning with us FIRST instead of as a follow up book once the series completed.  So we meet Ladd and Vivianne and all of Ladd's family. We get settled in their small town and learn some of the history. I am invested!  I love the characters and where this series may go.

The epilogue is the clue to the rest of the stories.  Love is a Cowboy series will follow Ladd and Vivianne's children and they grow and find their HEA. I am so looking forward to seeing all of that unfold.

Fantastic way to get things going in this new world.  Great read!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Release & Review: The Touch We Seek

Blurb:

From USA Today best selling author, Scarlett Cole, writing as S. Cole, comes a grumpy sunshine, forced proximity, hands off clause, electrifying small town MC romance.

Wren

It was supposed to be a quick job—slip into a criminal network, steal the money, vanish before anyone noticed.

Except now, I’m wedged between a furious cartel and an unrelenting FBI agent.

There’s nowhere left to run… except straight into the arms of the last people I should trust: the Iron Outlaws MC.

Yet Catfish—the biker assigned to shadow my every move—gives me attitude and quiet understanding in equal measure.

I’ve spent my life surviving systems built to erase me.

I didn’t expect a rough-edged biker with too many scars and not enough patience to be the one who sees me clearly.

Catfish

The club got hacked on my watch. Money gone.
Now I’m stuck protecting the outsider they brought in to fix it.
Wren—a hacker with no last name, no respect, and a mouth that drives me wild.
They’re off-limits. President’s orders.
And I’m already one mistake away from getting benched for good.
But when Wren is threatened, the rules go out of the window.
They become the line I'll cross.
Because there isn't anything I won't do, to keep us safe.

Review

This is the 6th book in the Iron Outlaws series and I think it may be my favorite. I don't know that I have ever read a book with a non-binary lead. I appreciate the forward with the author's honest expectation about the character o Wren. The rest of the story aside, I think the author did a great job explaining Wren's viewpoint and societies viewpoint of non-binary folks.

that said, the author once again gives us a blossoming romance snuggled in the life of an MC.  Wren is in hiding. Catfish is their protector but ends up being the only person who really sees Wren for who they are.

We get lots of action and intrigue in this one. Great seeing the other old ladies wrap up Wren in their group. Really great read overall!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
