Like a storm, Marcello Effisto tore through most of his life, wreaking havoc on those who opposed him … unapologetically.

When faced with keeping a promise to a dying man, to care for the person who tortured his soul, he is forced to go to the cross.

Will he allow the wreckage that caused his heart to grow cold keep him on his knees, or will he rise up and allow himself to love again?

If anyone can write the perfect anti-hero and then turn him around so we are all cheering for him, that would be this author! So far in all the series, Marcello has been just MEAN. He and Tris were together and then they weren't and then he tried to sabotage her new life and mental health. And now, at a crucial moment in Tris's life, Marc FINALLY understands what it means to be in love.

Yeah, he will always love Tris. He promised her husband to always watch out for her. But once he meets Charlotte in the ER at work, he just knows she is meant to be his.

Charlotte has some awful history and together, they need to work through a few things. The story lines get all twisty turny and she will forever be tied to his family regardless of their relationship. I loved watching Marc turn that corner toward the good. Oh, he will be a bad boy forever, but his heart is open to the good.

His daddy, Sabato, was on of my favorite stories. I liked seeing him in daddy mode. I kind of hoped Marc was a bit more like him. We do get to see a fair number of the Steel clan and catch up with them.

This is the first about the West Side crew and I am looking forward to the three ladies getting their HEA as well.

Great read once again!
