Release Blitz & Review: Play Me

Now LIVE!

He’s supposed to be playing rugby—not playing me.

I didn’t think it was possible to hate someone. Like utterly despise another human. Then I was
hired to babysit the Royals’ newest star and found out just how wrong I was.

My job should’ve been easy. Keep the hotshot on time and out of trouble. But that’s hard to do
when I dream of smothering him with his jersey.

Every day delivers a new reason to detest Gray Adler. His truck is the size of a whale, and he
uses the horn like a weapon. And, no, that’s not a euphemism. He can’t manage a sentence
without being rude. And the universe, in its cruelest joke, gave that tattooed, walking red flag the
body of a Greek god.

Just when I finally get used to hating him, things take a turn.

A scalding-hot, mind-blowing I can’t do this with a man I work with sort of turn.

Suddenly, those rough hands make my skin sizzle. His sinful smirks fade into grins just for me.
And our banter shifts into something much more profound than it should.

But Gray Adler is hiding something. And when those secrets collide with my vulnerable heart, I
ask myself an important question. Is he finally telling me the truth, or am I still getting played?

Review

Loved this whole new world by this author!  I am not typically a enemies to lovers trope person but this one worked.  Maybe because these two truly HATED each other!  It was great to see how their friendship evolved. Do you suppose the Brewer family had that in mind when they assigned Astrid to babysit Gray?

Can I just say that this author writes small town better than anyone.  Most of this story is in the city but when they have to go back to Gray's hometown, we get all the cozy vibes, nosy friends, and romantic settings that small towns are known for.

Loved this one!  But wait--did I hear their may be more Sugar Creek shenanigans to come?  I hope it's Gray's brother. Looking forward to it.

Release Blitz & Review : Chasing Forever

Chasing Forever by is now LIVE!

It was a fun Vegas getaway—until I woke up married to my ex-fiancรฉ’s brother.

After Watson brother #1 ditched me at the altar, I stopped believing in happily-ever-afters. So I have no clue how I ended up saying “I do” to Brooks—Watson brother #2—somewhere between tequila shots and bad decisions.

Okay, that may not be true.

Sheriff Watson has been a charming thorn in my side ever since his brother left our small ranch town in his rearview mirror. He’s a little too steady, a little too sweet, and way too intuitive because he sees through my facade. But no matter how tempting he is, he’s still a Watson.

I demand an annulment. He refuses, bargaining four real dates before he signs.

Fine. I’ll sabotage each one and keep my heart safely locked away. It’s easier this way because he has no idea the secret I’m keeping.

Of course, Brooks doesn’t go down easy—he has enough faith for both of us. He tackles my fears at every turn, making me wonder what would happen if I went all in.

But trusting the wrong man once nearly ruined me—doing it again might finish the job.

Review

Yea! So happy to be back at the Plain Daisy Ranch!  This is cousin Lottie's story. Of course all her sibs and cousins are still around showing up and showing out but this is Lottie's chance for true love.

Her heart has been shattered and wouldn't you know, the time it starts to tick again it is for her ex's brother. But Brooks and Lottie have a life long friendship so it only makes sense that their feelings might get all tangled up once Lottie drops her walls.

Great story! Loved all the side characters even Brooks' awful parents--they were a necessary part of the story.

Great addition to the story! Can't wait for more!

Release Blitz: Curse in the Quarter

A cursed man. A haunted city. A love that defies lifetimes.

When fallen angel Bastien Durand walks the rain-soaked streets of New Orleans, he carries more than just the weight of his past—he carries the memory of a love that has haunted him for over a century. Working as a supernatural investigator in the French Quarter, he's learned to live with ghosts, both literal and otherwise.

But when ancient magic begins stirring in the shadows and familiar melodies drift through the night air, Bastien realizes his greatest torment may also be his salvation. A brilliant librarian with eyes he's never forgotten holds the key to secrets that span lifetimes, though she has no memory of the souls she's carried before.

As supernatural factions clash and the veil between worlds grows thin, Bastien must navigate treacherous magic, old enemies, and the devastating possibility that some curses are stronger than death itself. In a city where the past never truly dies, he'll discover that love—and loss—can echo across centuries.

But awakening the truth may cost him everything he's fought to protect.

A moody, slow-burn paranormal mystery set in a New Orleans where demons, witches, and fae itself walk unseen among the living.

Review

This is my first time reading Amy Briggs but have read everything put out by Heidi Mclaughlin. I love a good paranormal and had read the short pre story to this series. New Orleans is always good for moody paranormal read. There is reincarnation, forever love, beating death, fallen angels,,,,All good.  Everything from the premise to the setting to the characters was on point.

So here is where is went off the rails. I couldn't figure out if it was because there were two different "voices" in the writing style. Or if there was just a lot of assumption by the authors that we knew some history or some of the story??? I must have put this down 20 times before I committed to actually finishing the book. I did get and ARC but there were so many timeline errors "she has until morning" 3 days later - "her time to choose is coming soon" it just kept throwing me out of the story.

There is some great reading to be had when stories uncover elements as you go. For this one, I felt like I didn't know where we were going, so I couldn't get behind any of the action. I know it is described as a slow burn but I was not getting long lost love feels from either Bastien or Delphine.

Just ok for me. It will be interesting to see what future books in the series will bring.
