With the death of Nessa and Hannah's parents, life is anything but a fairytale. Bad choices and secrets risk tearing Hannah and Nessa even further apart than they already are.

Hannah literally runs into Ice, a member of the VII Knights MC, and a plan to save not only the family business, but also her relationship with Nessa is hatched.

Can Hannah fix everything, or will she just have to let it go?

This is my first read of this author.  I have read other of the stand alone books in this series by different authors.  This brings us the VII Knights in Colorado. The short story is loosely based on Frozen.

I liked the MC in this one.  I loved Ice and Mercury and all the rest of the club. I loved how they agreed to help Hannah and stood by their word. I even actually liked Nessa-the Ice Queen.  I didn't connect at all with Hannah and she is the heroine in this book.  She was clumsy and had odd speech patterns. Although when talking in her head, she seemed more realistic, maybe?  She just didn't do it for me.

It is insta-lust with her and Ice and I didn't get much of a stronger relationship pull from them although they professed it.  Loved Samson!  He stole the scene for sure!  Overall, I think I would have enjoyed Nessa's story much more.

Just an ok read for me.

DNF

This is a new to me author. I could not get passed the 3rd person POV. Characters switched within chapters. I was clumsy to read. I made it 4 chapters before stopping. I loved the remise and I love a good MC book. This one was not for me.

Release Blitz & Review: Dusk Unveiled

Title: Dusk Unveiled
Series: Ravenwood Coven #2
Author: Carrie Ann Ryan
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: January 13, 2022

BLURB

NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues her magical paranormal series where a town keeps its secrets, but an aging curse might just be their downfall.

The Christopher curse is one of legend—so old that every new generation knows they will be touched by it. With every spell muttered, every magical pull needed to save her town, Laurel Christopher knows she’s one step closer to burning to ash and leaving those she loves behind. She’ll fight with all she has to protect her people—and the man she loves—but she might not have enough strength remaining to save herself.

Jaxton Dark lost his best friend to the necromancer attacking Ravenwood but refuses to lose his mate to a curse that could take them both. He’s well aware of the loss calling them, but before he can stand up for those he loves, a betrayal cuts him to the core.

Sacrifice was always an inevitability when it comes to the curse that threatens their fate. Yet it’s only when the darkness makes a subtle and surprising move that star-crossed lovers, Laurel and Jaxton, will truly find out the meaning of who they could be and what they must give up to survive.

4.5 stars

This is the second book of the series and you will want to read them in order for world building if nothing else. There is an over arching story line. Laurel was intriguing to me from the start and we finally get to see what her curse is all about.

Jaxton is pretty sure Laurel is his mate but she won't let him get closer than the good friends they are. She fears he will be destroyed by her curse along with her. When is comes down to it, fate has a better answer for them. Hearts prevail and love wins!

Still plenty of bad necromancer guys floating around. The town is in for a fight for their life soon. Lots of paranormal battle happening in this story with a hit of what is to come. We also learn more about Jaston's avian shifter world. And there are Mer-people in this one!

If you like a whole mix of all the paranormal regulars, this series is for you. One small town trying to hold it together for the good of the people living there. Looking forward to reading the finale but will be sad to let these characters go!
