Release Blitz & Review: Rye

Title: Rye (Nashville Nights, #2)

Author: Heidi McLaughlin
Genre: Rocker Romance
Release Date: December 2, 2025

Book Blurb:

She's sworn off musicians. He's a rock star trying to go country. What could go wrong?

Darian Mercer’s rock career crashed and burned with his band Reverend Sister. Now he’s hiding out in Nashville, playing dive bars and trying to forget everything that went wrong. The last place he expects to find his next song is at The Songbird, where venue owner Rye Hayes has spent three years keeping other people’s dreams alive while burying her own.

Rye doesn’t perform anymore. She books acts, pours drinks, and raises her ten-year-old daughter. When Darian takes her unfinished melody and turns it into something she couldn’t write herself, she’s pissed. She’s also intrigued.

Their collaboration starts as one song, one session. But music has a way of breaking down walls neither of them meant to build. When Darian’s past catches up and the industry comes knocking, they’ll have to decide what matters more: playing it safe or taking the risk that could destroy them both.

Some songs are worth the fight. Some aren’t.

This is book 2 of the series and follows the brother of Zara from book 1. Darian moves to Nashville for a new start and to be closer to his sister. He is a little lost like a ship in a storm at this point. Not sure what he wants to do. He happens upon the street music scene in Nashville. Those artists hoping to be noticed but playing for the love of music.

Rye owns a bar that hosts these wanna be musicians as a way to get their music heard. Although there is instant attraction between Darian and Rye, we spend a LOT of the book in angst and back and forth between the two. I put this one down a few times before I finished it.

I love a good single parent trope, but even little Lily did not capture my attention much in this one. The last quarter of the book picked up the pace and was a bit more interesting. Rye was the star character for me. I enjoyed watching her come back to herself again. I did love the 1st book in this series. I am hoping this is a one off by this author.

Looking forward to reading more about the Nashville music scene.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Release Blitz: Fallen Gods

FALLEN GODS

Rachel Van Dyken
Release Date: December 2

They said the Gods were myth. That the Giants were only stories told around dying fires. They lied.

The Gods aren’t dead—they’re only sleeping, locked in mortal bodies, scattered across the world, waiting for the right spark to wake them. And my father is the most ruthless of them all.

He raised me to obey. To bleed. To be his blade when the time came. Now he’s sending me to Endir University, a place filled with ancient bloodlines and deadly secrets, to steal back Mjolnir, the hammer of legend. If I fail, everyone I love dies.

But Aric Erikson wasn’t part of the plan. He’s the enemy’s heir. Distant. Dangerous. And…the one person I can’t afford to fall for. He’s closed himself off completely behind a wall of ice, but the more I’m ordered to unravel him, the harder it becomes to remember where the lies end and I begin.

There's only a mission I never chose—and a man I was never meant to love—standing between me and a war that will decide the fate of the world.

But if I’m the spark, maybe he’s the fuse. And the Gods? They’re about to wake up angry.

Review

What a way to end a series!! This author took us a twisty journey and I was breathless by the last chapter. Every path that was laid is this tale of two worlds was relevant to this story. The author wrapped everything us but not before so awesome travel, world building and character development.

Carys and Duncan hold true and are perfect for each other. I loved seeing them support each other even when they were in disagreement. I loved their group of warriors, ready to do the work of the shadowlands. They needed to right a wrong and by golly they go down to it.

Fantastic!! No complaints for how this story wrapped other than it was over!

Release Blitz & Review: This Heart

This Heart by Kelly Elliott is now live!

Book Blurb

Liam

The heart is fickle. One day, you love something or someone, and then the next, they destroy you with their lies, and that love disappears.

I'm over the lies and the deceit. So, I tell my wife I want a divorce, only to find out she's fighting for her life, against a disease that doesn't like to lose. What kind of man would I be if I went through with ending our marriage knowing she's sick?

So, I stay. I raise our daughter, and I'm there to help her when she needs me. Her best friend, Aurora, is there too, which becomes a problem because Aurora is everything my ex isn't, and with each passing day, I fall harder for her, and my guilt for those feelings grows.

Aurora

When Hope told me about her diagnosis, I wanted to do anything I could to help her through this. I vowed to be there for her, to help in any way I could.

I jumped in to help with Winnie and picked up the slack where Liam couldn't. With each day, we watched her condition worsen. I spent more time with them, mostly Liam and me, and in time, we grew to be good friends. After we lost Hope to her illness, the friendship I thought I had found in Liam was destroyed when he pushed me away with words that cut to the core.

When Liam reaches out to heal the wound between us, we begin to grow close again, and I can admit to myself that my feelings for Liam go far beyond simple friendship. When Liam shares the biggest secret of his life with me, and the truth about his relationship with Hope comes to life, everything changes between us. His guilt will not let him fully move on with his life.

How can I convince him that if he'd let me, I'd love him and his daughter for eternity? I'd give him this heart with no regrets.

This Heart is book four, and the last book in the Moose Village series.

Review

This is the last book of the series and may be my favorite. you don't need to read the others but please do!! Moose Village is a perfect small town. You will love all the characters.  This one follows Liam after his wife passes away. Your heart will break but get fille with so much hope when Liam and Aurora FINALLY reveal their true feelings.

I loved seeing their friend group really rally around this couple. Things can seem taboo after the death of a spouse but these two are such good friends, it just makes sense. Once some secrets get revealed. Aurora can't help but fall in love with Liam even more.

Loved the series and as I said, this book is the perfect topping on the series!

Release Blitz & Review: When We Breathe

Book Blurb

When We Breathe by Kristen Proby is now live!

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby comes When We Breathe, a small-town, mmf Why Choose romance set in Bitterroot Valley!

Alex

I met Adam and Gabe the old-fashioned way: in a bar. That is, if old-fashioned means that I met a couple of men already in a committed, loving relationship, and they took me home for a night of debauchery and fun, then yeah. That.

It’s just supposed to be one night. I don’t want to be the third wheel or put any kind of a wrench in their love story. These two guys are perfect together. Gabe is the laid-back, easygoing auto mechanic with muscles for freaking days. Adam isn’t lacking in the muscle department either, honestly, but he’s more intense, a little more bruised from a shaky past.

Like me.

I find myself craving their attention all the time. And they don’t seem to want to let me go. What started as one night has turned into something so much … more. I’m a girl who thought she wasn’t lovable, and instead, these two men are proving to me that the three of us could have something really special.

But it’s hard for me to trust, and letting go of the last of my independence may be where I draw the line. Will these men let me walk away, or will they fight for us?

Review

Whew!  This one was HAWT!!!!!  Loved that this throuple was begging to have their story told. Thank you so much for bringing their story to life.

This story parallels some of the other stories in the series. Loved to see Alex get some unconditional love from someone besides her siblings.  Adam and Gabe are perfect for her. Great to see parts of the story from different POV.

Wonderful addition to the series!

Release Blitz & Review: Whispers from the Lighthouse

Title: Whispers from the Lighthouse Author: Heidi McLaughlin

Genre: Paranormal & Cozy Romance

  Release Date: October 21, 2025

Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

Some secrets refuse to stay buried . . . even for twenty-five years.

When tourist Melissa Clark vanishes near Westerly Cove's historic lighthouse, Detective Brooks Harrington expects a routine missing person case. Instead, he's paired with Vivienne Hawthorne, a tea shop owner who claims her family can speak to the dead.

The case mirrors a twenty-five-year-old mystery—teenage Lily Morgan, who disappeared while researching the same lighthouse. Both women were asking dangerous questions about the town's buried secrets.

Vivienne's visions reveal corruption deeper than anyone imagined, but skeptical Brooks believes in evidence, not psychic abilities—until her insights lead him to clues logic couldn't uncover.

Racing against time, they must navigate their growing attraction while confronting enemies determined to keep Westerly Cove's darkest secrets buried forever.

Review

I had read the prequel novella for this series and that had me sucked in. I wasn't sure what this story was bringing other than the continued mystery of this small town's lighthouse, the deaths, the smuggling, the not so hidden secrets. What the author brought us was a wonderful world bridging on paranormal but kind of witchy light if you will.

If you read the novella, this book jumps forward 20 ish years. Brooks is a new detective in town and walks right into another disappearance.  The book follows this story and introduces Brooks to Vivienne, the local psychic/witch. Together they work to discover the mystery of the lighthouse. Along the way, they have feelings for each other but those really take a back seat to the investigative work.

It will be interesting to see if the author can continue to bring such compelling story telling if this couple stays in Westerly Cove. It seems like they may need to talk their show on the road in order to keep things interesting.

I look forward to more by this author and more of this couple of investigators.

Review

What a great launch to a new Scottish series by this author! We land in Leth Sholas and as quaint of a tourist spot it is, it also has some regular small town folk that live there year round.

Tierney is looking for a new start and needs contractors for her remodel of a B&B. The town is not without it's mysteries and one of the biggest enigmas is Ramsay. Living with his dog on an island off the coast, Tierney isn't quite sure what to make of him. Being trapped at his house overnight doesn't seem to answer any of her questions.

There is a fair amount of intrigue in this one. Someone is not happy about Tierney being there. Lots of secrets get revealed but I think the town in holding on to a few more. Loved all the secondary characters! Beautiful setting and great world building by this author once again.

Very much looking forward to more in Half-Light Harbor and Leth Sholas!

BLURB:

It was over between Bennett Owens and me—until I had no place to go but back to Willowbrook.

Seven years ago, he walked away, and I built a new life for myself, swearing never to look back. But when my husband is arrested, that life collapses, leaving my daughter and me with nothing but a three-month plan to return to the small ranch town before disappearing again.

The years apart haven’t dulled the pull between us. Bennett remains protective and patient, determined to prove that we deserve a second chance. But he has no idea about the secret I’ve kept since the day he left.

Because once he learns the truth, he may never forgive me. And like it or not, we’ll be bound together forever—by the daughter he never knew was his.

Review

This is the 5th book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. If you have read the other books, you know that Bennet is a single dad and he and his daughter live on the ranch. This book is about second chances and fist loves.

Delaney moves back to Willowbrook because she is left destitute. Her childhood best friend offers her a job at the flower shop. She wasn't expecting to run into her lost love so quickly and really didn't expect her emotions to come into play right away. Their daughters are friends in school so they will be seeing more of each other whether they want to or not.

Bennet is a close doff man. He is grumbly to everyone but his daughter. There are so many secrets in this story, it was hard to keep up sometimes. Definite angst through much of the story.

I love these tropes everytime-second chance and single parent. I do get frustrated with why people keep so many secrets. Things would just be better if either of these two had shared something with someone else along the way.

Regardless, the ending was just perfect. Looking forward to more Plain Daisy Ranch.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love a great second chance romance!  Add in the drama of a MC Prez vs a Lawyer??  Whew-what a ride!

Grudge and Lucy have a history and lots of secrets. When Lucy comes back into town again after years apart, Grudge is blown away. Not only is he still angry but he still loves her too.

Still some ongoing issues with the other MC trying to mess with the Iron Outlaws. A couple of twists in this one. Great to see the other couples come to support Grudge and Lucy.

Wonderful addition to the story!

Scarlett Cole is a contemporary romance and romantic suspense author who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

But when a viral dating challenge puts him opposite a woman who couldn’t care less about his fame, Lucky’s about to learn the hard way that some games don’t follow the playbook.

Review

Even if you have never read the rest of this series (but why??), you will fall in love with these two. Hockey sweetheart and social media guru Lucky is about to meet his match. He never wanted long term, until the down to earth Tik Tok influencer gets under his skin.

I loved the who meet cute and everything about Winnie all in one package.  She was the perfect foil to the man Lucky used to be-or at least the one he showed the world. He is a good man at heart and his momma raised him right. And who doesn't love an emotional support rabbit?  Great banter, great chemistry and great characters.

I loved how Lucky resolved the tension in the end. Great read all around!
