He’s tall, dark, and handsome... most of the time.
Becca’s eyes widened as they focused on someone behind her.
Nicole turned to see what had grabbed her attention… and gaped.
Sean strode toward her, a smile on his handsome face.
A very different Sean.
His combat blacks were gone, replaced by worn, faded blue jeans that molded themselves to muscled thighs. A white Henley T-shirt hugged eight-pack abs. Atop that, he wore a dark gray shirt, unbuttoned, with the long sleeves pushed back to his elbows. Dark tattoos now whorled and swirled up his muscled forearms. A watch adorned one wrist. Three black string bracelets circled the other. And his hair…
He had shorn his raven hair close to his head on the sides. The rest of his thick, wavy locks looked like he’d finger-combed them back from his face and sported so many pale golden streaks that he looked blond. A tattoo similar to those on his arms crept up one side of his neck, accenting his firm jaw.
Holy hell.

He loves strong women.
Ding.
Feet braced apart, Nicole drew a 9mm and aimed it at the elevator seam.
The doors slid open.
Empty.
Lowering her weapon, she stepped inside and pressed the button for the second floor.
Sean smiled as he joined her.
“What?” How did he lighten her spirits with just a smile?
“You look fierce,” he professed, his expression rife with admiration. “I love that you kick ass.”
Fighting a grin, she narrowed her eyes in warning. “Well, don’t get distracted, or I’ll have to kick yours.”
He laughed.
Ding.
Nicole again raised her 9mm and braced for battle as the elevator doors slid open.

He’s passionate.
Sean pressed a kiss to Nicole’s cheek.
“Seriously?” Becca said dryly. “You can kiss her goodnight. Like a real kiss. I told you it won’t make me feel like a third wheel as long as you don’t start groping each other.”
Nicole’s eyes shot to his.
Sean sent her a cocky grin. “You heard her.” Sliding an arm around her waist, he drew her up against him. When she made no objections, he dipped his chin and brushed his lips against hers. Once. Twice. Gentle explorations. Curious to see if the electric shock their first kiss had sparked had just been a fluke.
It hadn’t.
When Nicole rested a hand on his chest and slid it up to cup the nape of his neck, lightning struck. Fire raced through him, speeding his pulse and driving his heartbeat to drum in his ears. His heightened hearing caught the rapid thumping of her heart, along with the slight catch of her breath.
Did she feel the spark, too?
When her lips parted, he slid his tongue inside to stroke hers. So unbelievably good. Nicole pressed closer, rising onto her toes as she wrapped her other arm around his neck. Her hips shifted against his. Her breasts brushed his chest.
Hard and aching for her, Sean clutched her tighter.
Becca laughed. “I said not to grope each other.”

He loves to make Nicole laugh.
Nicole bit her lip as a new concern arose. “I didn’t do anything I should feel embarrassed about, did I?” A vampire’s bite didn’t just leave victims loopy. It could also lower inhibitions.
“Other than ravishing me and stealing my innocence, then farting in your sleep? No.”
She laughed. “I did not!”
“Okay. You didn’t fart in your sleep.”
She grinned. “But I did steal your innocence?”
“No,” he said, injecting his response with amusing petulance. “I kept waiting for you to, but noOo. All you wanted to do was sleep.”
Again she laughed.

He’s honest.
Desire blazed in the luminous amber eyes that caught and held her gaze. Cupping her face in both hands, Sean stared down at her with an intensity that heightened her awareness of him. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted to do that?”
She shook her head. He’d kissed her twice in recent weeks when he’d pretended to be her boyfriend. But he made it sound as if he’d wanted to kiss her before that.
Unable to deny the impulse, Nicole tucked her index fingers through the belt loops on his cargo pants to keep him close. “Why didn’t you?” she asked softly.
Much to her surprise, he didn’t hesitate to respond. “Because I knew with you, one kiss would never be enough. I would always want more.”
