His name was a warning and I didn’t listen.

This was my first read by this author. I enjoy MC books and based on the blurb, I thought the story would be intriguing.  And it was.  If you are looking for a dark, truly 1% MC read then this will work for you. 

Immediately, your heart is breaking for Roxy. She is in an awful situation and because of the type of men in this MC, no one is willing to help her. After she almost dies, Tex realizes he has done wrong by her long enough and hides her away from her husband.  

What follows is a nice slow burn. Declarations of long held feelings. The tension and anxiety that Roxy's husband and his MC will find them.  More harrowing action and they finally land with Roxy's brothers at yet another MC.  Again, I am in to the story. Everything seems to be following a pattern.  You just know that Rage is out there planning more harm until he gets Roxy back. Loved Tex and Roxy together.  You just know he is going to be the one to heal her heart. 

And then the story at about 2/3 in goes way wonky for me. The author adds another element that just seems off character and unnecessary for the story to progress.  Super hot, but given Roxy's history, it just doesn't seem to be the step she would need to heal and get on with her life.  Things spiral from there and then the epilogue had be saying--yeah no.  I don't want to know how that plays out.  

Great book up until a certain point. 4-5 stars until then but sadly does not finish well.

This is the second to last book in this series. Things are heating up for the Talon Pack and for shifters of all kinds.  As the enforcer, Kameron takes full responsibility for the Pack's safety. He doesn't have time to think of anything else. He knows Dani is his mate but he selfishly distances himself so that he can stay focused on safety.

Dani seems to be "other" just given the hints we have had throughout the series. If there was one thing that didn't set right in the story, it was the constant reminder to the reader that she was something more.  I got it the first 5 times. Until the big reveal, it must have been stated at least once per chapter.  Unnecessary and became annoying.

The author brings us a real sense of tension and anticipation. Waiting for Blade to do something and not knowing what, has them all on edge and I could feel that through the writing.  I loved both Dani and Kam thinking with their hearts.  Trying to do the best they could given the circumstances. Of course being true mates, when they finally come together, it is super HAWT!   LOVED the reveal and Dani's ability to help the Pack!

One book to go and I think she saved the best for last.  Max will finally get his HEA and boy does he deserve some good vibes.  Should be an epic conclusion!

This is the first of a duet by Laramie Briscoe.  Holy cow! I didn't know what I didnt know.  Love when authors give us little easter eggs in their other works.  Bam!  I am so happy that Caleb " Cruise" Harrison from the MTF series had a college roommate that got this author's creative juices flowing. We see just a mention of him in Caleb's book.  But believe me, you are going to want to know all about Slade. 

Slade and Malone were high school sweethearts.  Malone decides she needs to find herself and takes off.  Jump ahead 10 years and we start on journey for trust building and friendship. The underlying current of attraction still ebbs and flows between these two.  

Great bit of sports romance.  Wonderful start at a second chance.  The story doesn't end with this book. It's a minor cliffy but it really is just the end of a chapter. Book two picks up right after and continues the story. 

Fans of the Moonshine Task Force will love seeing Caleb and his family again. Fans of the author will love this one. And new readers will love this second chance romance!

Kameron really didn’t want to be alone with her.
