Release & Review: From Smoke to Flames

Title: From Smoke to Flames

Series: The West Brothers Series #3
Author: A.M. Hargrove
Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 23, 2019

They say there’s a fine line between love and hate.

Ours was a mile wide.

To put it bluntly, my life sucked.

When I finally got up the courage to divorce my jerk of a husband, never in a million years did I imagine his prick of an attorney would gain him full custody of my daughter.

My scant two weekend visits per month killed me.

And my ex made it as difficult as possible on me every single time.

So imagine my shock when said attorney’s name appeared at the top of the list at the in-patient substance abuse clinic where I worked as a counselor.

My list.

The first thing that occurred was I completely lost my Zen.
Then my blood boiled.

Then his chart flew across the room and slammed into the wall.

How could this possibly be happening?
Karma couldn’t be this cruel.

How in the world could I be an empathetic abuse counselor to the cocky Pearson West who destroyed my life?

I would rather become an addict myself, or better yet, strangle him first.

Just from the blurb, you know this is going to be intense,  Pearson has been on the fringes of each of the previous books and you just knew something major was going on with him.  Such a broken, tortured man. He has a great family and the Wests quickly jump in to help him out.

Going into rehab brings him in touch with Rose.  He doesn't remember her but she knows him.  He is the source of her greatest pain.  I appreciated the honesty between these two.  The crux of the issue came out early and then they could work on helping each other heal.  The pleasant side affect of that was that although neither were looking, they found love with each other.

Lots of humor mixed in with the angst. Some suspense near the end. An overwhelming since of love and forgiveness.  Best read of the series for me.

Raising her fourteen-year-old daughter has been the focus of her life ever since.

But when Austin’s mom asks her to renovate the Southport Inn, with an option to buy, Brooklyn knows it’s an opportunity too good to refuse.

Bowie Holmes should have been with his best friend the night he died. Instead, he was doing the unthinkable—and he’s never forgiven himself.

Fifteen years later, Bowie gets the job of a lifetime when he’s hired to help rebuild the Southport Inn.
There’s just one problem. One very big problem.

The designer is none other than Brooklyn Hewett, the one woman he despises more than anyone . . . and the one woman he has never been able to forget.

Blog Tour & Review: One Chance, Fancy

Benson Bayou Beauregard is the president of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, and the grandson of the Sergeant at Arms for the Dixie Wardens MC. He’s a mountain of a man and the warden of a prison, and there’s only one thing that can scare him—being told that he’s the father of a three-year-old little girl.

A three-year-old little girl that has no clue who he is. Hell, he only finds out about the little cherub when a woman from child protective services comes by and rocks his world before leaving the girl in his shocked arms.

Every single thing he thinks he knows goes up in a cloud of smoke.

To make matters worse, the woman that he’s been trying to convince to give him a chance takes one look at the little girl and tells him that he’s just not in the right place to handle both of them.

But Bayou was never one to back down from a challenge.

He can handle a three-year-old girl that acts exactly like him, and he can more than take on the fiery red-head that sets flame to his blood while he’s at it.

4.5 Stars

I am just loving this series. Each book is better than the last. The author brings us some unique heroes and the women who fall for them.

Bayou has his own issues and demons to live with. He has come to peace with himself but still doesn't want to put himself out there for the girl who has always had his heart. Fancy and Bayou go way back. When Fancy/Pheobe takes a chance on him, the sparks fly. They have some things to sort out and then a child comes into the mix and things get even more interesting. But these two can handle it.

A little bit of suspense, a whole lot of loving and some nice banter throughout. Great story!

I love the author's writing. She brings us great romance stories. As I have said with each book all along, these aren't MC books. The characters know each other because of the MC they belong in, but all of the action takes place away from the club. No worries! Still a great read!
